⭐ Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage workshop team performance
- Plan and execute preventative & corrective maintenance
- Ensure high fleet availability (target ±90–95%)
- Manage locomotive rotation and downtime
- Drive workshop productivity and turnaround times
- Enforce safety and compliance standards
- Control spare parts, stock, and inventory
- Maintain accurate reporting and system updates
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives
🧠 RequirementsQualifications:
- Diesel Electric Trade Certificate (essential)
- Mechanical Engineering qualification (advantageous)
Experience:
- 15 to 20 years in locomotive maintenance
- Strong diesel electric & hydraulic experience
- Proven workshop/maintenance leadership
- Hands-on fitter experience (diesel/mechanical)
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostics skills
- Experience with preventative maintenance systems
- Exposure to maintenance systems (e.g. ACAP or similar)
