Senior Ruby on Rails Developer (SaaS & API Integrations)Experience: 7+yearsWork Mode: 100% RemoteJob Type: ContractContract Duration: 6 months (may get extended)Immediate Joiners OnlyKey Responsibilities– Design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications using Ruby on Rails – Build robust backend systems for SaaS platforms and high-traffic applications – Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and third-party integrations – Work closely with product, frontend, and distributed teams to deliver features end-to-end – Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following engineering best practices – Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues – Participate in Agile development processes and sprint planning – Mentor junior developers and contribute to technical decision-making – Ensure performance, scalability, and security of applications in productionRequired Skills & Experience –Strong experience in software development with a focus on Ruby on Rails – Proven experience building and scaling production-grade web applications – Solid understanding of REST APIs, backend architecture, and system design – Experience working in Agile environments, preferably on large-scale SaaS products – Ability to quickly gain fluency in new technologies and adapt in an evolving tech environment – Strong problem-solving skills with a broad technical knowledge base – Demonstrated success in mentoring developers and guiding engineering best practices – Clear communication skills and the ability to build high-trust relationships with teams and customers – A strong history of past projects, including notable successes and lessons learned – Demonstrated interest in improving engineering craft using AI tools and modern development practicesIntegration Experience (Mandatory) –Hands-on experience building integrations using REST APIs – Experience working with third-party systems and external APIs – Understanding of authentication, webhooks, and data synchronization workflows – Experience with API-based integrations with QuickBooks (QBO), Xero, or similar financial systems is highly valuableWork RequirementsComfortable working in a distributed team environment – Must be able to provide a minimum of 4 hours overlap with Pacific Standard Time (PST) – Ability to collaborate effectively with international teams and customers across time zones
