The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in validating large-scale data platforms, performing backend/data testing, and working within Agile delivery environments.The candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the quality, integrity, and accuracy of enterprise data solutions by driving end-to-end testing activities including test planning, test execution, defect management, integration testing, and automation initiatives.This role requires strong collaboration with business stakeholders, product teams, developers, data engineers, and vendors to ensure high-quality and timely project delivery.Key ResponsibilitiesIndependently manage and execute end-to-end testing activities for data and analytics projects.Analyze business and technical requirements to identify testing scope and test scenarios.Design, develop, and execute test cases for:ETL TestingData ValidationIntegration TestingDeployment TestingRegression TestingBackend/Data TestingValidate data pipelines and transformations within Databricks/Spark environments.Perform advanced SQL validations on SQL DB/PostgreSQL/Databricks platforms.Develop and maintain reusable regression test assets and automation frameworks.Work closely with Scrum teams to clarify requirements and ensure testability.Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives.Manage defect lifecycle including defect logging, tracking, prioritization, and validation.Coordinate with vendors and development teams for issue resolution and defect fixes.Identify test data and test environment requirements.Provide accurate test status reports, risk analysis, and RCA (Root Cause Analysis).Support CI/CD and DevOps practices for continuous testing initiatives.Mentor and guide junior testers/test engineers when required.Mandatory Skills & ExperienceTechnical SkillsStrong hands-on experience in ETL Testing and Data TestingExperience working with Databricks / Apache SparkStrong expertise in:SQLData ValidationBackend TestingGood understanding of:Azure Data FactoryLinked ServicesSQL DB / PostgreSQLDatabricks ArchitectureExperience executing SQL queries on:SQL ServerPostgreSQLDatabricksStrong experience in:Integration TestingDeployment TestingRegression TestingDefect ManagementExperience with Agile and DevOps methodologiesUnderstanding of:CI/CD pipelinesSoftware Development Lifecycle (SDLC)Software Testing Lifecycle (STLC)ATDD/TDD methodologiesHands-on experience with:VSTS / Azure DevOpsGITgJIRA or ALM toolsAny backend automation experience using Databricks is an added advantageDomain ExpertiseStrong experience in the Retail Domain is mandatoryExposure to Data & Analytics platforms in Azure/AWSUnderstanding of AI/Data-driven testing concepts is a plusSoft SkillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesSelf-driven, proactive, and result-orientedAbility to work collaboratively across teams and time zonesStrong stakeholder and vendor management skillsEducational QualificationBachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent
