Our Finance Department, consisting of Accounting, FP&A, and Tax, is looking for an experienced Financial Accountant to support further growth within India. As a member of the finance team, you will have the opportunity to shape the direction and growth of a best-in-class department and company.We are seeking a seasoned accounting professional who has extensive financial and accounting management experience within a fast-growing company, as well as enthusiasm and compulsive attention to detail. This person will be responsible for managing and scaling the day-to-day functions of Quora India.Responsibilities:Month end/ Year end closing:Month end/year end closing transactions including Bank/Intercompany reconciliation, prepaid, depreciation & forex run, month end accruals, schedules, etc.Perform various month end allocationsFinalise month end reporting package as per USGAAP & IGAAP and profit reconciliation between USGAAP vs IGAAPAudit:Preparation of financial statements as per Companies Act, prepare & review of audit schedules for statutory/tax auditsLiaise with auditors for query resolutionTax & Compliances:Ensure accurate calculation of monthly/quarterly/annual tax liability (tds/advance tax/gst/equalization levy) and timely payment of taxesEnsure timely filings of monthly/quarterly/annual returns under gst/tds/equalization levy with support of external consultantWork on tax notices/assessments with support of external consultantsShare inputs in required format for form 3CEB/3CA/3CD filing and related coordination with auditorsAnalyze 26AS reconciliation and guide AR team with actionable points to ensure 26AS reconciles to booksOversee secretarial/ FEMA compliances applicable to the companyDay to Day Operations:Oversee Accounts Payable (AP) functions ensuring necessary approvals for transactions, maintaining strict adherence to company protocols and policiesMinimum Requirements:Ability to be available for meetings and impromptu communication during some North America hoursProfessional Degree in accounting, finance, or businessCertified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designations or equivalent5 to 7 years of relevant accounting experienceStrong Excel and data management skills along with Technical Accounting knowledge/proficiencyProven ability to work in a cross-functional, fast-paced environment and to lead and drive complex initiativesAttention to detail, organized and thorough with a desire for continuous improvementExcellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skillsPassion for Quora productPreferred Requirements:Prior consumer internet experienceAt Quora, we value diversity and inclusivity and welcome individuals from all backgrounds, including marginalized or underrepresented groups in tech, to apply for our job openings.
