Associate Manager – Database Administration (MSSQL, Postgres, DynamoDB)

The Database Administrator (DBA) is responsible for ensuring the overall performance, reliability, and security of the SQL Server environment, as well as managing cloud-based solutions like PostgreSQL and DynamoDB. This includes managing server hardware, network software, protocols, and application software, particularly e by EpicorWhat you will be doing:

  • Performance and Reliability: Ensure the SQL Server environment, PostgreSQL, and DynamoDB are stable and reliable, supporting the effective operation of e by Epicor
  • Administration: Oversee the administration of SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and DynamoDB, including server hardware, network software, and protocols
  • Security: Implement and maintain security measures to protect data integrity and prevent unauthorized access.
  • Backup and Recovery: Develop and manage backup and recovery plans to ensure data protection and restoration in case of failure.
  • Monitoring and Optimization: Monitor database performance and optimize queries and indexes to improve efficiency.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including IT and development teams, to support their database needs and ensure seamless integration of applications.

What you will likely bring:

  • SQL Server Administration: In-depth knowledge of SQL Server administration, including installation, configuration, and maintenance
  • Cloud-Based Solutions: Proficiency in managing cloud-based databases like PostgreSQL and DynamoDB
  • Client/Server Environment: Broad understanding of all components of the Client/Server Environment, with a focus on SQL Server, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, and e by Epicor
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve database issues.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills to collaborate with various teams and stakeholders.

  • Stability: Provide a stable and reliable environment for Epicor, PostgreSQL, and DynamoDB to operate effectively
  • Efficiency: Optimize database performance to ensure efficient operation and quick response times.
  • Security: Maintain robust security measures to protect data integrity and confidentiality.
  • Support: To meet their database needs and offer timely and practical support to other departments and teams.

Qualifications

  • 9+ years applicable experience and demonstrated success/knowledge.
  • 2+ years managing and developing employees.
  • 2+ years of specialized/industry experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience).
