We are looking for a skilled web developer to join our college’s IT team. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining our college website and related applications, ensuring they are user-friendly, secure, and efficient. As a web developer, you will work closely with our IT and marketing departments to enhance our online presence and provide seamless digital experiences for students, faculty, and staff.Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain the college website and web applications.
- Write well-designed, testable, efficient code using best software development practices.
- Create website layout/user interface using standard HTML/CSS practices.
- Integrate data from various back-end services and databases.
- Gather and refine specifications and requirements based on technical needs.
- Create and maintain software documentation.
- Be responsible for maintaining, expanding, and scaling our website.
- Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends.
- Implement SEO best practices to increase traffic and engagement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
- Identify and fix security risks in the website codebase.
Requirements:
- Proven working experience in web programming.
- Strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other relevant web development languages.
- Experience with at least one server-side scripting language such as PHP, Python, or Node.js.
- Working knowledge of web development frameworks (e.g., Laravel, Django, React.js).
- Familiarity with databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
- Understanding of web architecture, security principles, and best practices.
- Ability to troubleshoot and debug web applications.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
