We’re excited to embark on improvements to the way our applications and software licences are managed at Corrections. We’re committed to progress ongoing work to streamline our Software Asset Management (SAM) processes, enhance the user experience and identify and deliver cost-saving opportunities.This new role sits within Infrastructure and Digital Assets (IDA), which provides a range of services to support the delivery of Corrections’ core business and ensure we maintain consistent service delivery regardless of external events and crises. The group comprises of three areas: Asset Management, Public Private Partnerships and Digital.Mō te tūnga | About the roleThe Software Asset Management Capability Lead is being put in place to provide tactical support and strategic thought leadership as we mature our SAM practice. The Department is actively prioritising better efficiency and effectiveness in software licence management and recognises there is measurable value to be delivered through better process and cost-savings to the Department through an improved SAM practice.In this fixed-term role you will be based in Wellington at our National Office, and work with our vendor partners and other teams within IDA including the Digital Vendor Management Office.Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experienceYou’ll have experience working with technology systems and applications licencing but also have:

  • Understanding of software asset and licensing management in a public sector context
  • Strong customer engagement skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders including technical experts and business owners
  • Demonstrated strategic and operational experience providing guidance on the uplift of processes, systems and workflows
  • Knowledge and experience of licensing constructs from technology vendors
  • Developed ability to frame and communicate strategic plans and/or improvement roadmaps
  • Excellent written, spoken and stakeholder communication skills.
