We’re Hiring Site Engineer – Civil

Job Description:Core Responsibility

  • Execute and supervise civil construction activities at the substation site as per approved drawings, specifications, and project schedule.
  • Bachelor’s/Diploma in Civil Engineering.
  • Ensure quality, safety, and timely completion of works.

Site Execution Responsibilities

  • Supervise civil works related to:
  • Equipment foundations (Transformers, CT/PT, Circuit Breakers)
  • Control room building construction
  • Cable trenches and duct banks
  • Earth pits and earthing grid installation
  • Boundary walls and internal roads
  • Oil containment bunds and fire walls
  • Ensure proper excavation, backfilling, and compaction works.
  • Verify levels, alignment, and layout before construction.
  • Coordinate concrete pouring and curing activities.

Concrete & Structural Works

  • Check reinforcement placement, spacing, and cover.
  • Inspect formwork alignment and stability before pouring.
  • Supervise PCC, RCC, and grouting works.
  • Ensure proper curing and protection of concrete structures.

Earthworks & Earthing System

  • Supervise excavation for the earth grid and trenches.
  • Ensure proper laying and welding of GI earthing strips.
  • Monitor backfilling and compaction to the required density.
  • Coordinate with the electrical team during earthing grid installation.
  • Monitor daily site progress and manpower productivity.
  • Prepare daily progress reports and material requirements.
  • Coordinate with the planning engineer for schedule updates.
  • Attend site coordination meetings.

Material & Quality Control

  • Verify incoming materials as per approved submittals.
  • Raise inspection requests (IR) for consultant approval.
  • Ensure works comply with project specifications and quality standards.
  • Assist QA/QC team during inspections and testing.
