At Spirit Airlines, the sky isn’t the limit—it’s just the beginning!Responsibilities:The Android Software Engineer builds and supports Spirit Airlines’ Android mobile applications, delivering features that power booking, check-in, loyalty, and guest self-service experiences. This role partners closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, scalable mobile solutions.

  • Design, develop, and maintain Android applications using Kotlin and Java
  • Participate fully in Agile ceremonies and sprint execution
  • Collaborate with iOS, API, QA, and Product teams to deliver cohesive mobile experiences
  • Improve and maintain CI/CD pipelines for Android builds and releases
  • Monitor app performance and support production incident resolution
  • Apply best practices for mobile security, performance, and maintainability

Qualifications:Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience

Experience

  • 3-5 years of software engineering experience
  • 3+ years of Android application development
  • Experience supporting production mobile apps

Specialized Skills & Competencies

  • Strong proficiency in Kotlin (Java a plus)
  • Experience with Android SDK, Jetpack components, and Material Design
  • REST API integration and mobile architecture patterns (MVVM, etc.)
  • Experience with automated testing and CI/CD
  • Familiarity with Azure DevOps, Dynatrace, Splunk is a plus
  • Travel or airline industry experience is a plus
