Additional Comments:Job Summary As an Akamai Administrator , you will be responsible for managing and optimizing our Akamai Content Delivery Network (CDN) to ensure seamless and efficient delivery of our digital assets across the globe. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement best practices, automate processes, and resolve critical issues, ensuring our e-commerce platform remains fast, secure, and highly available for millions of customers. Key Responsibilities Akamai CDN Management: Administer and maintain the Akamai CDN environment with a deep understanding of its various modules, including but not limited to: Property Manager: Configure and manage delivery properties for optimal performance. Edge DNS: Manage DNS configurations to optimize content delivery. Adaptive Media Delivery: Ensure smooth streaming of media content. Web Application Firewall (WAF): Implement and manage security policies to protect against web threats. Image Manager: Optimize image delivery for performance and quality. Kona Site Defender: Enhance website security against DDoS attacks and other threats. Configuration and Optimization: Develop and maintain high-performing, error-free rules within Akamai’s Delivery Configuration. Design and implement effective caching policies to maximize content delivery efficiency. Continuously optimize asset delivery across the internet to ensure minimal latency and high availability. Automation and DevOps Integration: Apply DevOps principles to automate configuration and change management processes within the Akamai environment. Utilize scripting and automation tools to streamline repetitive tasks and improve operational efficiency. Customer-Facing Support: Serve as a primary contact for internal and external stakeholders regarding CDN-related issues. Prioritize and manage support tickets, ensuring timely resolution of critical incidents. Maintain availability for on-call support to address urgent issues affecting service delivery. Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with development, operations, and security teams to align CDN strategies with overall business objectives. Communicate technical concepts clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences. Document processes, configurations, and best practices to facilitate knowledge sharing and team efficiency. Qualifications Education: Bachelorโ€™s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Relevant certifications are a plus. Experience: Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience administering Akamai CDN in a large-scale, high-traffic environment. Proven experience in a customer-facing role, managing priorities, and handling critical issues effectively. Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of various Akamai CDN modules, including Edge DNS, Adaptive Media Delivery, WAF, Image Manager, Kona Site Defender, and Property Manager. Strong proficiency in writing and maintaining delivery configuration rules that are both high-performing and error-free. Comprehensive understanding of caching strategies and asset delivery optimization techniques. Solid grasp of DevOps principles and experience with automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., gitlab preferred) to facilitate configuration and change management. Familiarity with monitoring tools and performance analysis to proactively identify and resolve issues. Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly and concisely. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently, especially during high-pressure situations. Preferred Qualifications Akamai certifications (e.g., Akamai Certified Administrator) are highly desirable. Experience with other CDN platforms and a comparative understanding of their features and benefits. Knowledge of web development technologies and protocols (e.g., HTTP/HTTPS, SSL/TLS).
