Job Description:TES6 – Firmware, Test Principal Technical expertEnsures delivery of the highest quality solutions for Schneider Electric Power products by planning, facilitation, execution & reporting of test campaigns and test automation.Test Expert responsible for Firmware Testing, test automation Techniques & tools. Lead and mentor verification engineers and support team establish internal procedures and best practices for work and deliverables.Responsibilities:

  • Analyze product requirements and derive test plans based on those requirements.
  • Develop verification strategies and verification architectures.
  • Create and execute test plans, test cases, and procedures for firmware testing.
  • Identify and prioritize testing efforts based on key features and use cases.
  • Ensure thorough testing of all aspects of the product.
  • Drive automation strategy and ensure effective automation.
  • Develop and maintain test automation scripts and tools.
  • Contribute ideas and feedback during user requirements and specification reviews.
  • Conduct reviews of test plans and automation scripts.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including development and product management.
  • Analyze and report test results to stakeholders.
  • Identify and track defects, working with development teams to resolve them.
  • Stay up to date with industry-standard software testing and development methodologies and practices.
  • Execute cybersecurity pre-penetration testing features and coordinate with the pentest team.

Skill sets:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Electronics Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in testing both manual and automated products and systems, including hardware, firmware, and software, within an R&D environment.
  • Working experience with low voltage, medium voltage, metering products, and protection systems.
  • Experience with test automation tools and lab equipment (scripting languages such as Python and automation tools like Selenium, NI TestStand).
  • Experienced in functional verification of devices using various communication protocols, including Modbus, CAN, and IEC61850 or relevant Protocols.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in the Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) process.
  • Experience in Agile methodologies.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
  • Proven ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned tasks.
  • Expertise in using packet analyzers like Wireshark and serial port sniffers, with the capability to analyze and decode frames.
