Department Description
Assists the consultants and specialists with medical diagnosis and treatment of patients, in accordance with current medical staff bylaws, rules and regulations and the hospital’s policies and procedures. Gains certain skills and techniques related to the subspecialty, that are used to provide required patient care.
Brief Description1. Assists the consultants and specialists in providing required patient care and management in accordance with standards of medical care laid down by Hospital.2. Complies with all hospital standards and policies pertaining to acceptance, eligibility, admission processes, consultation, daily patient care, operating room, outpatient practices, and patient discharge3. Prepares medical histories and performs physical examination on patients.4. Participates in patient rounds with consultant medical staff.5. Presents findings to consultant staff for review and critique.6. Learns specialized diagnostic techniques and procedures and gains knowledge of specialized therapeutic equipment.7. Attends teaching programs, medical conferences and meetings.8. Presents case studies to medical staff.9. Participates in clinical, basic and translational research projects and publishes papers in accordance with Research Advisory Council policy.10. Participates in teaching of residents.11. Assists the hospital in the development and implementation of techniques and practices that help maximize the utilization of resources.12. Abides by the current hospital and medical staff bylaws, all relevant rules, regulations and policies and keeps himself/herself updated of any changes that might occur.13.Participates in self- and others’ education, training and development as applicable.14. Follows all Hospital’s related policies and procedures.15. Performs other related duties as assigned.
