Looking for highly motivated individual with hands-on Java development experience, to support building the new Model management platform. Technology stack includes a wide range of proprietary and open-source technologies including REST API, Workflow and Rule Engine technologies, scalable big-data platforms, No-Sql databases, UI \u2013 ReactJS\/Redux and reporting tools.<span class=\"br\"><\/span>Model Control System (MCS) is used to manage firm-wide inventory of models by front-office, finance, operations, control, and other oversight functions. It is the central repository for storing model meta-data, documentation, and implements model workflows in accordance with The Firm Global Model Risk Management Policy.<span class=\"br\"><\/span>The team supports cross-divisional business area with high visibility and oversight from both internal risk management and external regulatory authorities across the globe. To support significant growth in business functionality and support changing regulatory environment, including implementing new global policy frameworks such as AI\/ML\/GenAI model framework, MCS is undergoing significant modernization using modern technology stack. The new technology platform being built needs to support model inventory management, workflows, event management, Model Review, Model Usage, Model documentation, GenAI integration, analytics, and reporting.<span class=\"br\"><\/span>About Super Department:<span class=\"br\"><\/span>Risk Technology supports the aggregation and monitoring of risks across all global business and products. We own cross-asset applications and services to support and enable risk management consolidation, calculation, analysis and reporting, federal marking, model inventory control, limit setting, and frameworks monitoring. In addition, these services are used to meet global regulatory requirements.<span class=\"br\"><\/span>In the Technology division, we leverage innovation to build the connections and capabilities that power our Firm, enabling our clients and colleagues to redefine markets and shape the future of our communities.<span class=\"br\"><\/span>This is a Lead Software Engineering position at Vice President Level, which is part of the job family responsible for developing and maintains software solutions that support business needs.<span class=\"br\"><\/span>Since 1935, Morgan Stanley is known as a global leader in financial services, always evolving and innovating to better serve our clients and our communities in more than 40 countries around the world.<span class=\"br\"><\/span>What you\u2019ll do in the role:<span class=\"br\"><\/span><b>Responsibilities:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The candidate needs to be able to understand distributed systems architecture, be a team player with effective communication skills and passionate about programming in a distributed, event-driven pub\/sub environment using Core Java, and Python.<\/li>\n<li>The candidate should enjoy working in a highly collaborative environment that values teamwork.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p> What you\u2019ll bring to the role:<span class=\"br\"><\/span><b>Required Skills:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Very strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.<\/li>\n<li>10-15 years of experience in Java backend development<\/li>\n<li>At least 6 years&#8217; relevant experience would generally be expected to find the skills required for this role.<\/li>\n<li>Very strong knowledge of software design principles: MVC, data structures, graph data, algorithms, design patterns, multithreading, caching, recursion<\/li>\n<li>Strong knowledge of core Java: class loading, garbage collection, Java collections API, Reflections API, Java Streams and Functional Programming<\/li>\n<li>Strong knowledge of common Java frameworks (Springboot, REST, JSR-303, Logback, Junit, Apache Commons)<\/li>\n<li>Strong Knowledge of Relational Databases and SQL (DB2)<\/li>\n<li>Strong design and architecture skills<\/li>\n<li>Experience of leading a small team (3-7 size) of developers<\/li>\n<li>Strong background in working with Business Stakeholders<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Desired Skills:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Cloud tech stack \u2013 Azure, Snowflake, Databricks.<\/li>\n<li>Document oriented database Mongo DB<\/li>\n<li>Workflow Engine \u2013 BPMN, DMN \u2013 Camunda 7\/8<\/li>\n<li>Strong knowledge of BDD (behavior-driven development) with JBehave\/Cucumber<\/li>\n<li>Experience with TDD (test driven development)<\/li>\n<li>Strong knowledge of GIT source code management<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of Gradle, Jenkins automated build processes<\/li>\n<li>Strong knowledge of Representation state transfer (RESTful Web services)<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of HTTP, XML, JSON<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of Unix\/Linux<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of Liquibase database schema management<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p> WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM MORGAN STANLEY:<span class=\"br\"><\/span>At Morgan Stanley, we raise, manage and allocate capital for our clients \u2013 helping them reach their goals.
