The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing and optimizing databases, both relational and non-relational databases. This role requires a proactive individual who can ensure the performance, availability, and security of our databases while also contributing to the design and implementation of data solutions.<span class=\"br\"><\/span><b>Key Responsibilities<\/b><span class=\"br\"><\/span>Software Delivery <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Manage, monitor, and maintain databases across multiple environments, including AWS RDS, ensuring high availability and performance.<\/li>\n<li>Design, implement, and maintain database schemas, indexes, and complex queries to optimize performance and ensure data integrity.<\/li>\n<li>Develop and implement database backup, recovery, and archiving strategies.<\/li>\n<li>Perform regular database patching and upgrades to ensure systems are up to date with the latest security and performance enhancements.<\/li>\n<li>Collaborate with development teams to design and optimize database architectures, queries, and indexing strategies.<\/li>\n<li>Monitor database performance and troubleshoot issues, implementing tuning and optimization techniques as needed.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure database security by implementing best practices for access control, encryption, and auditing.<\/li>\n<li>Develop and maintain documentation for database configurations, procedures, and processes.<\/li>\n<li>Mentor and provide guidance to junior DBAs and data engineers.<\/li>\n<li>Stay current with emerging database technologies and industry trends to continuously improve our data infrastructure.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p> Deliver Functional Design <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Participate in business process re-engineering<\/li>\n<li>Assess value, develop cases and prioritize stories, epics and themes with acceptance criteria to ensure focus on those with maximum value that are aligned with product strategy<\/li>\n<li>Providing support during User Acceptance\/Integration Testing<\/li>\n<li>Walkthrough the User Manual\/ Production User Verification scripts with users<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p> Adherence to Risk &#038; Data Quality Management Requirements <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Proactively identify issues and actions<\/li>\n<li>Monitor and remediate issues and actions from audits<\/li>\n<li>Awareness of the regulatory world and knowledge of AML, Fraud, Screening, Data Quality needs and ensuring these are catered for in the functional design<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p> Stakeholder Management <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Coordinate with resources and teams across different location<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p> Key Stakeholders <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Operations (Group, Regional, Country and Hubs)<\/li>\n<li>Business &#8211; Product\/Sales\/Segments (Group, Regional, Country)<\/li>\n<li>Technology &#8211; Delivery Teams and Technical Architecture)<\/li>\n<li>Hive Leads<\/li>\n<li>Chapter Leads<\/li>\n<li>Trade Technology Team<\/li>\n<li>Interface IT Teams<\/li>\n<li>Technology Services Teams<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p> Mandatory Skills: <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor&#8217;s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.<\/li>\n<li>10+ years of experience as a Database Administrator with a focus on AWS RDS, RDBMS, and NoSQL databases.<\/li>\n<li>Strong experience with relational databases such as Oracle &#038; PostgreSQL.<\/li>\n<li>Proficiency in MongoDB, Cassandra, Kafka and elastic.<\/li>\n<li>Hands-on experience with AWS RDS and related AWS services.<\/li>\n<li>Expertise in SQL and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Shell).<\/li>\n<li>In-depth knowledge of database design, indexing, and query optimization techniques.<\/li>\n<li>Experience with database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning.<\/li>\n<li>Familiarity with database security best practices.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Strategy<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Awareness and understanding of the Group&#8217;s business strategy and model appropriate to the role<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p> Business <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Awareness and understanding of the wider business, economic and market environment in which the Group operates.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p> Processes <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Responsible for executing within set processes<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p> People &#038; Talent <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Lead through example and build the appropriate culture and values.
