Managing user access, roles, and permissions within the database.<\/li>\n<li>Database Troubleshooting: Investigating and resolving database-related issues, such as connectivity problems, data corruption, and performance bottlenecks. Applying patches and fixes to address bugs and vulnerabilities.<\/li>\n<li>Database Documentation: Maintaining accurate and up-to-date documentation of database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides to ensure easy reference for future tasks and knowledge sharing.<\/li>\n<li>Database Capacity Planning: Monitoring database growth and resource utilization to anticipate and plan for future storage requirements and performance enhancements. Participating in training programs, attending conferences, and exploring relevant resources to enhance your skills and knowledge.<\/li>\n<li>Participate in 24X7 production support for SQL Server infrastructure along with senior members of the other database services teams<\/li>\n<li>Remember that specific responsibilities may vary depending on the organization, its size, and the complexity of the SQL Server environment you&#8217;re working with. Additionally, as a Level 1 DBA, you may also be responsible for assisting Level 2 or senior DBAs with more complex tasks and projects.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p> Knowledge List <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>General knowledge in DR strategies including Database Mirroring, Log Shipping, SQL Replication, and AlwaysOn.<\/li>\n<li>\u00b7 Good analytical and problem-solving skills.<\/li>\n<li>\u00b7 Ability to demonstrate understanding of SQL Database Management System application&#8217;s architecture, data structures, and functionality.<\/li>\n<li>\u00b7 Proficient in SQL database engine administration, setup and maintenance of user and group security.<\/li>\n<li>\u00b7 PowerShell and T-SQL Scripting: Learn PowerShell scripting to automate administrative tasks in SQL Server. Also, have a strong understanding of T-SQL (Transact-SQL) scripting language to write complex queries, stored procedures, and functions.<\/li>\n<li>\u00b7 SQL Server Upgrades and Migrations: Understand the process of upgrading SQL Server to newer versions and migrating databases to new servers. Familiarize yourself with the associated risks and best practices.<\/li>\n<li>\u00b7 Best Practices and Industry Standards: Stay updated with the latest best practices, industry standards, and security guidelines for SQL Server. Follow Microsoft&#8217;s official documentation and online resources to ensure you&#8217;re using recommended practices.<\/li>\n<li>Good written and verbal communication skills.
