TNT Sports UK features exclusive live sports such as the Premier League and UEFA Champions League.<span class=\"br\"><\/span><b>Roles &#038; Responsibilities:<\/b><span class=\"br\"><\/span>As we continue to grow and innovate in a fast-paced, highly-competitive digital environment, we are seeking a Staff Software Engineer who will be a key member of the WBD Global Sports Tech team, responsible for building and maintaining systems supporting Warner Bros. Discovery\u2019s family of Sports products\/brands, including Eurosport, NCAA\/MML, and Bleacher Report. You will work closely with product\/project managers, users, development staff, and senior leadership to implement designs, develop and deploy fan-facing solutions.<span class=\"br\"><\/span>Own and drive key initiatives supporting the developer workflow from PR to release.<span class=\"br\"><\/span>Lead initiatives that drive innovations in Sports and deliver technical solutions.<span class=\"br\"><\/span>Collaborate with partner engineering teams for inputs, support, and guidance.<span class=\"br\"><\/span>Establish best practices, set exemplary coding standards and drive operational practices for your team.<span class=\"br\"><\/span>Demonstrate excellent ability to document technical solutions and articulate them to both business and technical audiences.<span class=\"br\"><\/span>Present, advocate and champion engineering perspectives.<span class=\"br\"><\/span>Participate in Agile ceremonies and show ownership of work throughout the sprint process.<span class=\"br\"><\/span>Build and maintain highly available, low-latency systems that successfully serve sports content to customers in production environments.<span class=\"br\"><\/span>Integrate service health, monitoring, alerting and documentation capabilities in parallel to your software development deliverables.<span class=\"br\"><\/span>Coach and mentor engineers up to Senior Software Engineer level, providing input to leadership on team development needs and growth opportunities.<span class=\"br\"><\/span>What to Bring:<span class=\"br\"><\/span>8-11 years of demonstrated expertise in building scalable web applications using React JS and modern JavaScript &#8211; including type systems and advanced language features.<span class=\"br\"><\/span>5+ years of React experience, including working experience with functional components and hooks.<span class=\"br\"><\/span>Strong experience with REST and GraphQL APIs.<span class=\"br\"><\/span>Advanced proficiency in TDD, unit\/integration testing strategies, and establishing testing standards across complex applications.<span class=\"br\"><\/span>Experience with NextJS including App Router, server\/client components, and SSR\/SSG concepts.<span class=\"br\"><\/span>Experience optimizing SEO performance metrics (e.g., Core Web Vitals).<span class=\"br\"><\/span>Experience with build tools (e.g., Rush, Heft, Docker) and CI\/CD pipelines.<span class=\"br\"><\/span>Experience translating complex design features into modular components using design software (e.g., Figma).<span class=\"br\"><\/span>Solid performance optimization and monitoring expertise for high-traffic applications.<span class=\"br\"><\/span>Ability to create functional-level impact and deliver complex features with little to no oversight.<span class=\"br\"><\/span>Effective communication skills as exemplified by technical documentation deliverables, and stakeholder and adjacent teams interactions.<span class=\"br\"><\/span>Fluency in English is a must.<span class=\"br\"><\/span><b>Bonus Skills<\/b><span class=\"br\"><\/span>Working experience with Jest.<span class=\"br\"><\/span>Experience with Material UI (MUI) for theming and component development.<span class=\"br\"><\/span>Understanding of accessibility best practices and SEO is highly desired.<span class=\"br\"><\/span>Experience with Kubernetes or ECS.<span class=\"br\"><\/span>Experience integrating AdTech solutions.<span class=\"br\"><\/span>Experience working with design tokens.<span class=\"br\"><\/span>Experience creating and documenting components in isolation with Storybook.<span class=\"br\"><\/span>Technical Environment<span class=\"br\"><\/span>Tech Stack: React, NextJS<span class=\"br\"><\/span>Development Practices: TDD, pair programming, code reviews, continuous integration and delivery (CI\/CD)<span class=\"br\"><\/span>Deployment: Automated using Terraform\/Github Actions on AWS<span class=\"br\"><\/span>Technologies Used: GraphQL backend, Material UI<span class=\"br\"><\/span>Agile Practices: Dailies, story detailing, planning, retrospectives<span class=\"br\"><\/span><b>What We Offer:<\/b><span class=\"br\"><\/span>A Great Place to work<span class=\"br\"><\/span><b>Equal opportunity employer<\/b><span class=\"br\"><\/span>Fast track growth opportunities<span class=\"br\"><\/span>How We Get Things Done\u2026<span class=\"br\"><\/span>This last bit is probably the most important!
