About the Job:<\/b><\/span>The Ansible engineering team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Platform Services team. In this role, you’ll work closely with Product Management, Quality Engineering, Customer Support and other Engineering teams to deliver the best platform experience possible. Your focus will be to provide centralized management of platform-level functionality such as traffic routing, load balancing, authentication and authorization.<\/span>We\u2019re looking for someone who cares about great design, values collaboration, and enjoys being part of an open, inclusive team where engineering is about much more than just code.<\/span>What you will do:<\/b><\/span>Design and implement new features and bug fixes to provide authentication and authorization for Ansible Automation Platform<\/span>Collaborate with various teams to identify the scope of work and use tools such as Jira to document requirements<\/span>Create unit and integration tests to verify that developed software meets the requirements<\/span>Participate in code reviews and provide feedback to juniors and peers on technical designs, merge requests, etc.<\/span>Provide escalation level troubleshooting and timely resolution of system, network and infrastructure issues.<\/span>Help mentor and learn from other engineers in a highly-collaborative team environment<\/span>Participate in product release cycles, deploying code to integration, staging and production environments, integrating with CI\/CD tooling<\/span>Regularly participate in the team\u2019s Agile scrum process, demos and check-ins with Product Management and other stakeholders to align on use-cases and plan new initiatives<\/span>What you will bring:<\/b><\/span>Desire to lead from technical design through execution<\/span>Significant experience with Python, Django and Django Rest Framework<\/span>Experience with Python unit and integration testing with tools such as pytest<\/span>Deep knowledge in one or more areas of identity and access management such as authentication, authorization, etc. \u200b\u200b<\/span>Comfortable working in a Linux-based environment<\/span>Experience with SQL and relational databases such as PostgreSQL<\/span>Experience with utilizing container management platforms and development environments like Kubernetes, OpenShift, Docker\/Docker Compose, and Podman<\/span>Experience working on large-scale projects utilizing version control with CI\/CD systems like Jenkins and GitHub Actions<\/span>Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to drive discussions with both technical and non-technical audiences, and an ability to describe projects that you or the team is working on with confidence and depth of understanding.<\/span>An aptitude for jumping in to help unblock, mentor and learn from others<\/span>An agile mindset, with openness and flexibility to pivot towards the highest priority work items as needed<\/span>The following is considered a plus:<\/span>Knowledge of industry standard security concepts and protocols like SAML, SCIM, OAuth, OIDC, and RBAC.<\/span>Proficient with Envoy Proxy (including building filters, controlling envoy via API, and monitoring)<\/span>Hands-on experience using Ansible for automating tasks such as configuration management, application deployment, cloud provisioning, etc.<\/span>Working knowledge of message queuing technologies such as Redis.<\/span>Contributor to one or more open-source projects<\/span>#LI-HM1<\/span>The salary range for this position is $116,270.00 – $191,840.00. Actual offer will be based on your qualifications.<\/span>Pay Transparency<\/span>Red Hat determines compensation based on several factors including but not limited to job location, experience, applicable skills and training, external market value, and internal pay equity.
