{"id":9521,"date":"2024-12-09T11:59:22","date_gmt":"2024-12-09T11:59:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.whitehattoolbox.com\/jobs\/facility-maintenance-lead\/"},"modified":"2024-12-09T11:59:22","modified_gmt":"2024-12-09T11:59:22","slug":"facility-maintenance-lead","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.whitehattoolbox.com\/jobs\/facility-maintenance-lead\/","title":{"rendered":"Facility Maintenance Lead"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>Job Description:<\/b><span class=\"br\"><\/span><b>Overview<\/b><span class=\"br\"><\/span>**This position is physically located in Kuwait in support of LOGCAP**<span class=\"br\"><\/span>Under supervision of Trade Shop Supervisor and\/or Facility Maintenance &#038; Repair Supervisor, Performs routine and emergency maintenance of electronic intrusion alarm systems and equipment, components, and subsystems, to include conductor splicing and terminating on associated systems. Performs major and minor installation and repairs to circuit boards, circuit breakers, transformers, filters, batteries, rectifiers, and associated components and accessories. Performs in secure-, critical-, and sensitive-designed areas under control of the U.S. Army IAW contract requirements.<br \/><b>Responsibilities<\/b><span class=\"br\"><\/span>This position description is subject to change at any time as needed to meet the requirements of the program or company. <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provides direction in the accomplishment of the maintenance and repair of systems associated with fire detection, suppression and other equipment that is a component part of the overall fire protection system<\/li>\n<li>Utilizes test equipment and meters such as voltmeters, ammeters, telephone test sets, smoke detector sensitivity testers, and wire tracing equipment, and others for locating and diagnosing equipment, distribution, and control system malfunctions.<\/li>\n<li>Utilizes computer software to program fire alarm control panels and perform load calculations for installed systems<\/li>\n<li>Utilizes various hand tools, shop tools, and equipment in accomplishing repairs and maintenance of these systems and components.<\/li>\n<li>Troubleshoots and repairs fire protection circuits and equipment. Repairs or replaces defective components.<\/li>\n<li>Requests and maintains accountability for parts, tools, equipment and materials required for work performance and work assignments.<\/li>\n<li>May be required to conduct both routine and emergency services after normal work periods.<\/li>\n<li>Performs the majority of work in the sensitive and secure areas of military installations and facilities in accordance with the established security procedures of the U.S. Army and contract requirements<\/li>\n<li>Responsible for safe operation, cleanliness and operator maintenance of assigned vehicle.<\/li>\n<li>Prepares and completes requires work documents.<\/li>\n<li>Complies with safety\/environmental standards and safe work practices<\/li>\n<li>Acts as Subject Matter Expert for the AOR fire alarm\/suppression systems<\/li>\n<li>Provides recommendations to the US Government for the need for new systems and repairs.<\/li>\n<li>Performs other duties as assigned<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Qualifications<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Minimum Qualifications: Education\/Certifications: One year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Must possess a Trade Certification\/License in one of the following trades: HVAC, Carpentry, Electrical, Plumbing and\/or Mechanical.<\/li>\n<li>Must possess a current Stateside driver&#8217;s License unless otherwise stipulated<\/li>\n<li>Ability to obtain host country driver\u2019s license.<\/li>\n<li>Experience:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Associate&#8217;s degree and minimum 5 years\u2019 experience in one of the required trades.<\/li>\n<li>Examples include previous job descriptions, DD214 and Military\/Civilian Performance reports, job experience letter on company or corporate letterhead from previous employers.<\/li>\n<li>Skills:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Must have the ability to evaluate fire detection\/suppression installations to determine corrective action.<\/li>\n<li>Must have sufficient knowledge of English to understand technical instructions and documents and accomplish work from these documents. MIRCOM PRO 2000, VESDA, and Chemetron Suppression Systems factory training desired (or equivalent).<\/li>\n<li>Excellent organization and communications skills, both written and verbal, are required.<\/li>\n<li>Must be computer literate in all aspects of Microsoft Office.<\/li>\n<li>Supervisory Responsibilities:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Supervises a section of 11 technicians including required reporting and submission of inspection reports and required contract documentation.<\/li>\n<li>Working Conditions:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Must be capable of working in an extreme weather conditions with temperatures exceeding 120 degrees Fahrenheit.<\/li>\n<li>Indoor and\/or outdoor environment with very adverse and harsh conditions (i.e., hot, dry, duty, desert environment with average temperatures of 30 degrees in the winter and 130 degrees in the summer months). Includes some industrial production environment conditions as well.<\/li>\n<li>Physical Requirements:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and\/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and\/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and\/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work.<\/li>\n<li>Work may require heavy lifting, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical, or biological agents.<\/li>\n<li>Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations.
