We provide ongoing care to a broad range of patients, ranging from those who are critically unwell, to those who need minimal rehabilitation or assessment and advice.<span class=\"br\"><\/span>You will be responsible for providing a high standard of assessment, advice, treatment and evaluation of patients referred to the acute Inpatient Occupational Therapy Service, including patients with diverse presentations and complex physical and psychological conditions.<span class=\"br\"><\/span>In return, you will be supported in your efforts to build on your previous experience to further develop your clinical competencies and leadership skills.<span class=\"br\"><\/span>Current rotations are 9 months within: <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Acute Medicine<\/li>\n<li>Critical Care and Surgery<\/li>\n<li>Oncology and End of Life care<\/li>\n<li>Orthopaedics<\/li>\n<li>A&#038;E, short stay wards and Frailty<\/li>\n<li>Community rotations with our partners EPUT andEssex County Council<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p> Rotations and place of work may change according to the evolving nature of the integrated pathways across acute and community teams. A flexible and adaptable approach will be necessary to ensure delivery of an excellent OT service across all pathways.<span class=\"br\"><\/span>This is a full time position. We will consider job shares and flexible working requests. Contract will be January &#8211; September 2025.<span class=\"br\"><\/span><b>Main duties of the job<\/b><span class=\"br\"><\/span>To have a major role in the advanced Occupational Therapy assessment and treatment of patients within the speciality who may have acute, complex and\/or chronic presentations, provide functional assessment and deliver individualised treatment plans aimed at reducing the impact of disability and ill health.<span class=\"br\"><\/span>To undertake a leading role in planning, coordinating, delivering and evaluating the Occupational Therapy service provided to inpatients on many wards, by the medical\/surgical team on a daily basis.<span class=\"br\"><\/span>To deputise where necessary for team lead Occupational Therapist. Responsible for the clinical development of the service within the speciality, and provide day to day management of more junior staff, including Band 5 Occupational Therapists and assistants.<span class=\"br\"><\/span>To work with community teams, for onward referral for patients being discharged home, to facilitate a safe and timely discharge.<span class=\"br\"><\/span><b>About us<\/b><span class=\"br\"><\/span><b>Our Organisation<\/b><span class=\"br\"><\/span>The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust (PAHT) provides a full range of general acute, outpatient and diagnostic services at The Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow, the Herts and Essex Hospital in Bishop&#8217;s Stortford, and St Margaret&#8217;s Hospital in Epping.<span class=\"br\"><\/span>We employ 3,500 staff and serve a local population of around 350,000 people living in west Essex and east Hertfordshire, centred on the M11 corridor and the towns of Harlow, Bishop&#8217;s Stortford and Epping.
