Join our Environment and Health division as our new Principal Ecologist and work with us to close the gap to a sustainable future.<span class=\"br\"><\/span><b>Your new role<\/b><span class=\"br\"><\/span>As our new Senior Ecologist, you will be part of our Biodiversity and Ecosystems Global Service Line within the Environment and Health division. You will work on projects ranging from transport infrastructure to commercial and residential development, as well as renewable energy projects. You will join a dynamic and expanding team delivering key projects and further developing a variety of skills within the environmental consultancy sector. Joining Ramboll offers you the opportunity to contribute positively to the business and build a successful career in an open, collaborative, and empowering culture.<span class=\"br\"><\/span><b>Your key responsibilities will be:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Managing small to medium scale projects with input on large scale projects such as transport infrastructure projects with the support of the ecology team leads<\/li>\n<li>Main point of contact with Ramboll project managers, clients, partner organisations, and sub-consultants<\/li>\n<li>Planning and undertaking ecological surveys or clerk of work programmes and producing high-quality reports including habitat (e.g., Preliminary Ecological Appraisal) and species surveys<\/li>\n<li>Undertaking ecological mitigation design and delivery<\/li>\n<li>Liaising with ecological regulators and planning authorities<\/li>\n<li>Delivering technical work on complex projects<\/li>\n<li>Fee proposal preparation and assisting with client relationship management<\/li>\n<li>Supervision and management of more junior ecologists and input to resource planning.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p> In addition to the above, at Principal grade the role will involve: <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Effective resource planning, management, and mentoring of an ecology team within a multi-disciplinary consultancy environment<\/li>\n<li>Reviewing reports including EIA chapters, HRA, precautionary methods of work, and species licence applications<\/li>\n<li>Delivering complex projects on time and managing them to budget<\/li>\n<li>Business development and client relationship management<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>About you<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Proficient user of MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook (and ideally ArcGIS)<\/li>\n<li>Familiar with digital data capture techniques in ecology fieldwork<\/li>\n<li>Experienced in fieldwork and application of survey techniques in accordance with best practice guidance<\/li>\n<li>Ability to communicate effectively in written and spoken English to a range of audiences<\/li>\n<li>Capable of producing clear and concise written documents for a range of purposes<\/li>\n<li>Hold one or more protected species survey licences (ideally bats) and ideally with experience of holding or implementing development licences<\/li>\n<li>Good knowledge of relevant environmental\/ecology legislation<\/li>\n<li>An understanding of the planning systems in Ireland and Northern Ireland in relation to development, and the integration of ecology<\/li>\n<li>Full clean driving licence, willingness to undertake surveys at unsociable hours (e.g., bats, newts), and flexibility to allow occasional working away from home<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>What we can offer you<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Commitment to your development<\/li>\n<li>Leaders guided by our Leadership Principles<\/li>\n<li>A culture that welcomes you as the unique person you are<\/li>\n<li>Inspiration from colleagues, clients, and projects<\/li>\n<li>The long-term thinking of a foundation-owned company<\/li>\n<li>Flexible work environment<\/li>\n<li>27 days annual leave plus bank holidays<\/li>\n<li>Matched pension contributions<\/li>\n<li>Private medical cover and life assurance<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p> Ready to join us?<span class=\"br\"><\/span>Please submit your application with your up-to-date CV.
