We are expanding our team of over 6,000 employees (and growing) across 30+ offices globally.<\/span>The Opportunity<\/b><\/span>We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our dynamic Capital Markets team in Brisbane. In this role, you will develop deep expertise in our FNZ products and application, business processes, and industry. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned Java developer to collaborate with experienced Solution Architects and Business Analysts\/Testers, while mentoring junior Developers. You will work with global clients to bring their requirements to life and build high-quality solutions, while contributing to the design and development of our products.<\/span>The responsibilities will include:<\/b><\/span>Software Development<\/span>Design, develop, test, and maintain applications across multiple platforms and programs.<\/span>Analyze business requirements to design applications and databases.<\/span>Diagnose issues with software in a timely manner, including complex issues introduced by environmental factors e.g. network issues. Identify and implement workarounds and\/or permanent solutions.<\/span>Modify applications programs and troubleshoot applications programs in both test and production scenarios.<\/span>Software Quality<\/span>Ensure software meets user requirements and follows industry standards.<\/span>Conduct and review code testing, including unit tests and automated test packs.<\/span>Develop and maintain reusable test artefacts and contribute to test methodology selection.<\/span>Knowledge Sharing<\/span>Act as a subject matter expert and provide technical guidance.<\/span>Mentor and train junior team members to enhance skills and problem-solving.<\/span>Collaborate with senior architects to contribute to design implementation.<\/span>High-Performing Team Contribution<\/span>Participate in team meetings, share knowledge, and support continuous improvement.<\/span>Build strong working relationships and ensure effective communication across teams.<\/span>Adhere to company policies, legislative requirements, and workplace safety standards.<\/span>What are we ideally looking for in a successful candidate?<\/span>7+ years in software development, including 3+ years in IT, with relevant tertiary qualifications.<\/span>Experience in Financial Services and\/or Capital Markets and familiarity with its problem domain.<\/span>Advanced proficiency in Java, SQL, XML, and enterprise infrastructure components (e.g., Oracle, Postgres, Tomcat, Spring, JMS, RabbitMQ, Apache Camel, JasperSoft).<\/span>Experience in Agile development and test frameworks (TDD, BDD).<\/span>Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and ability to learn new technologies.<\/span>Familiarity with commonly used frameworks, tools, and open-source components.<\/span>Ability to design programs that meet user needs effectively.<\/span>Adaptability to change and willingness to learn new programming languages, tools, and frameworks.<\/span>Effective communication skills and strong time management abilities.<\/span>Why should you join us?<\/b><\/span>A hybrid 3+2 model combining working from the office and from home.<\/span>A competitive salary and excellent benefits, including full comprehensive health insurance, Life insurance, additional annual leave days after your first 12 months, sick days, and more.<\/span>Be part of a highly successful, rapidly growing, global business that is leading the delivery of financial services via cloud computing and partners with some of the world\u2019s largest companies.<\/span>We provide global career opportunities for our employees at any of our offices in the UK, Czech Republic, Australia, New Zealand, China and more.<\/span>If this role appeals to you, please apply by the 6th April 2025.<\/span>*Please note we shortlist as we receive applications.
