Role Summary & Role Description:<\/span>As a Java and Systems Lead, you will guide a team of Java and Linux Systems Engineers to deliver solutions to address critical business problems. The focal areas include enhancing existing internal systems, making tooling and mechanisms to enable public cloud migration. You will work across multiple functional areas, break-down silos, think big, and deliver results. You should be able to operate under some ambiguity and be able drive new projects for the organization. You will be a true leader who can provide the support and mentorship to upskill your team and advance their personal development. As a Java and Systems Lead, you\u2019ll also be tasked with supporting existing production applications and building new ones.<\/span>We expect the right candidate to have 20+ years of experience in Linux\/Unix Systems, Software engineering, SDLC Best Practices, Quality Assurance, and Research and Development. Must have hands-on experience with modern Distributed Applications, Virtualization, Cloud Architecture, High Availability, Security, and Networking. The candidate must have good documentation and communication skills.<\/span>What you will be responsible for: –<\/b><\/span>Ideate, propose, design, code, validate, and deliver Solutions in the Private\/Public Cloud environment.<\/span>Must be familiar with writing proposals for informed decision making<\/span>Root cause incidents and facilitate implementing the learnings though feature enhancements.<\/span>Must contribute to framework and automation code in Java and Bash and be able to review before code approvals.<\/span>Create documentation and test plans to perform integration and scale out tests.<\/span>Must be familiar with logging and alerting.<\/span>Participate in the change management and production coverage as needed<\/span>Ability to adapt to new technology, concept, approaches, and environment faster<\/span>Must have the ability to dive-deep and solve problems.<\/span>Must be curious and show commitment to customer outcomes.<\/span>These skills will help you succeed in this role:<\/span>Collaboration across multiple teams and relationship building is key to getting things done but is also good for you.<\/span>You\u2019re passionate about what you do and proud of what you have achieved so far, but you want to do more.<\/span>You want to learn to further your technical but also personal skill sets.<\/span>You do have proven experience working in an environment that has complicated and difficult problems to solve.<\/span>You are not afraid to try new things, it may be good, it may not work, but at least you tried, and we learned together.<\/span>You take accountability, think big, start small and own it \u2013 be ambitious but understand that we need to work iteratively to achieve the best results.<\/span>Core\/Must have skills:<\/span>Core Development \u2013 Core Java, Linux\/Unix, Bash Scripting, Python, Ruby (nice to have)<\/span>Operating Systems \u2013 Linux (RHEL, SLES, or CentOS)<\/span>Virtualization \u2013 VMware, KVM, or Public Cloud such as AWS, or Azure<\/span>Coding, Code reviews, GIT, SDLC<\/span>CI\/CD Tools \u2013 Jenkins, Harness<\/span>Leadership skills such as ownership, stakeholder communication, deliver results<\/span>Good to have skills:<\/span>Troubleshooting skills, Re-Engineering solutions, Migrations<\/span>Work Schedule:<\/b><\/span>Working Model (Hybrid) – 4 days’ Work from Office<\/span>Schedule \u2013 (3:00 pm to 12:00 am) or (2:00 pm to 11:00 pm) (IST)<\/span>Location \u2013Bangalore only, outstation candidates must be willing to relocate on Day 1.<\/span>Why this role is important to us:<\/span>Our technology function, Global Technology Services (GTS), is vital to State Street and is the key enabler for our business to deliver data and insights to our clients.
