This collaborative environment delivers FRESH THINKING, reassuring our customers that they choose the best when they choose to work with the people of Dover Food Retail.<span class=\"br\"><\/span>Job Title: Continuous Improvement Leader<span class=\"br\"><\/span>Location: Keosauqua, IA<span class=\"br\"><\/span><b>What we are looking for:<\/b><span class=\"br\"><\/span>We are looking for a Continuous Improvement (CI) Leader (with management responsibility) to own driving the organization to targeted, measurable and sustainable improvements across operations and support functions. Expectations include co-owning strategy, tactical development and execution for site initiatives and coaching lean capabilities within the organization. The CI Leader will directly manage a team of engineers and technicians. This position will be expected to build &#038; foster a business environment that embraces Kaizen \/ Continuous Improvement (CI) and structured problem solving as a key to the company&#8217;s ongoing OPEX growth and success. The position will report directly to the Dir. of Operations.<span class=\"br\"><\/span>What are the responsibilities of this role:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Formally and informally coaching others to identify and take action to reduce waste<\/li>\n<li>Forming, facilitating, leading &#038; participating on cross-functional teams<\/li>\n<li>Using and coaching data-based decision making and structured problem-solving<\/li>\n<li>Facilitating, Leading &#038; participating in lean conversion actions.<\/li>\n<li>Formally and informally training in use of lean tools<\/li>\n<li>Relentless pursuit and developing of Lean muscle across the organization<\/li>\n<li>Working cross-functionally as a problem-solver and team builder<\/li>\n<li>Organizing Kaizen events, and associated logistics<\/li>\n<li>Projecting a positive, solution-seeking attitude in all business interactions<\/li>\n<li>Work well in team environments<\/li>\n<li>Motivate others to engage, support, and share our vision<\/li>\n<li>Communicate effectively across various levels within the organization<\/li>\n<li>Adapt and stay flexible within multiple business environments, audiences, and priorities.<\/li>\n<li>Share best practice with local CI staff, leadership, and Dover Enterprise teams<\/li>\n<li>Documenting and developing process and system documentation as appropriate<\/li>\n<li>Writing business cases, capital expenditure requests and assessing financial impact of CI action<\/li>\n<li>Leading \/ Co-Leading facility and operations upgrades or enhancements<\/li>\n<li>Coach, manage conflict, develop, and mentor direct reports, and foster an environment of positive employee relations at all levels of the organization<\/li>\n<li>Provide day to day leadership coaching at DM, with team and other staff as needed<\/li>\n<li>Monthly travel to Centerville, IA facility expected (at company&#8217;s expense)<\/li>\n<li>Other responsibilities as assigned<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p> What are the basic qualifications?<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor&#8217;s degree in a Business, Technology, Education, Engineering, or related discipline<\/li>\n<li>Minimum five (5) years&#8217; experience leading and\/or facilitating Kaizen \/ CI teams<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p> What are the preferred qualifications?<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>10+ years proven experience implementing and sustaining DM, Flow, SW, POU, PULL<\/li>\n<li>Proven hands-on understanding and experience in use and coaching of TPS\/Lean Fundamentals (5S, SW, PSP, Kaizen, DM, VSM, TPI, Poka-Yoke, 3P, etc.\u2026)<\/li>\n<li>Proven ability to effectively communicate and influence across functions and at all levels within the organization and act as an OPEX Sensei<\/li>\n<li>2+ years Project Management experience<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p> To be a great fit for the role:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Able to speak the language of LEAN<\/li>\n<li>Strong listening, coaching and communication skillset<\/li>\n<li>Recognize organization roadblocks and be able to use change management techniques to navigate towards solutions<\/li>\n<li>Experience developing Lean Leaders across Functional Departments<\/li>\n<li>Experience with Project and Change Management tools<\/li>\n<li>Ability to manage projects independently with little to no supervision<\/li>\n<li>Experience as a manager of people<\/li>\n<li>Strong Computer &#038; MS Office Skills<\/li>\n<li>Experience leading a Kaizen Promotion Office (KPO)<\/li>\n<li>Experience leading \/ facilitating Kaizens through a Lean OPEX conversion<\/li>\n<li>Cross functional experience in Operations \/ Material Flow \/ Supply Chain Mgmt. \/ Customer Support \/ Accounting \/ Product Development<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p> How We Define Our Values and Why You Should Join Our Team:<span class=\"br\"><\/span>The backbone behind our collection of outstanding businesses is a team of dedicated employees who protect and enhance our valued reputation for quality and delivering what we promise.
