Role Summary:<span class=\"br\"><\/span>The Navigation application is Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies&#8217; most used infotainment application, with a direct impact on customer range anxiety and overall EV experience. Our missing is to empower customers to confidently take any kind of adventure with they wish with their Rivian by providing the best possible navigation experience bar none. Our navigation application sits at the nexus of multiple key initiatives from charger data and scoring to trip planning, and voice assistants.<span class=\"br\"><\/span>In this role you would be helping build first of its kind experiences and setting up our Navigation to scale. Responsibilities: <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Design and develop navigation applications on Android OS<\/li>\n<li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product and UI\/UX design teams to define application features<\/li>\n<li>Identify potential problems and resolve application bottlenecks for performance optimizations<\/li>\n<li>Triage, debug, and fix application issues before final release<\/li>\n<li>Perform code reviews and practice continuous integration and development<\/li>\n<li>Write test code to test for quality, robustness, and functional correctness, including edge cases<\/li>\n<li>Design and implement subsequent application updates and releases<\/li>\n<li>Grow your skills with continual learning, workshops, conferences, and talks<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p> Qualifications: <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering (MS preferred)<\/li>\n<li>Proven Android app developer with 5+ years of experience<\/li>\n<li>Proficiency in Kotlin, Java, and C++<\/li>\n<li>Ability to manage your workload with minimal supervision<\/li>\n<li>Proficiency in using Android and Android Jetpack APIs, including knowledge of Android NDK and JNI<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of Android design principles and application interface guidelines<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of Android\u2019s performance and testing framework<\/li>\n<li>Familiarity with embedded Android framework services<\/li>\n<li>Excellent coding and proofreading skills<\/li>\n<li>Familiarity with the best-in-class Software development practices<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge and experience with Jetpack libraries<\/li>\n<li>Proficient in code versioning tools including Git, Bitbucket and others<\/li>\n<li>Experience with continuous integration tools, such as Jenkins<\/li>\n<li>Excellent inter-personal skills with the ability to collaboratively work with and influence cross-functional teams<\/li>\n<li>Top-notch teamwork and communication skills<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p> Pay Disclosure:<span class=\"br\"><\/span>Salary Range\/Hourly Rate for California Based Applicants: 147,000 USD &#8211; 183,000 USD (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).<span class=\"br\"><\/span>Benefits Summary: Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies provides robust medical\/Rx, dental and vision insurance packages for full-time employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26.
