The Painter Lead is also responsible for assuring that adequate supplies and materials are readily available. Work involves knowledge of surface peculiarities and types of paint required for different applications. Preparing surfaces to be painted by washing them, filling holes and cracks with putty and sanding them until smooth. Applying primer and other sealers to paint surfaces to ensure that paint sticks to them. Applying paint, stain and other finishes to paint surfaces using paintbrushes, rollers, or sprayers. Work requires rounded training and experience usually acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience.<br \/><b>Responsibilities<\/b><span class=\"br\"><\/span>This position description is subject to change at any time as needed to meet the requirements. <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Paints and reconditions surfaces to be painted<\/li>\n<li>Preparing surface for painting by removing old finish or by placing putty or filler in nail holes and interstices<\/li>\n<li>Applying paint with spray gun or brush<\/li>\n<li>Mix colors, oils, white lead and other paint ingredients to obtain proper color or consistency<\/li>\n<li>Performs other duties as assigned<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Qualifications<\/b><span class=\"br\"><\/span>Minimum Qualifications: Education\/Certifications: One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Must be CAC eligible and\/or able to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC)<\/li>\n<li>Must be a U.S. Citizen<\/li>\n<li>A valid driver\u2019s license and the ability to obtain a U. S. Government Motor Vehicle Operator\u2019s License and host nation Driver\u2019s License, is required.<\/li>\n<li>Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Must provide a copy of the diploma.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Experience:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Work requires rounded training and experience usually acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience. Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a painter.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Skills<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Knowledge of surface peculiarities and types of paint required for different applications<\/li>\n<li>Preparing surface for painting by washing them, filling holes and cracks with putty and sanding them until smooth.<\/li>\n<li>Applying paint with spray gun or brush<\/li>\n<li>Mixing colors, oils, white lead and other paint ingredients to obtain proper color or consistency.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Working Conditions<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The worker is subject to extreme cold. Temperatures typically below 32 degrees for periods of more than one hour. Consideration should be given to the effect of other environmental conditions, such as wind and humidity.<\/li>\n<li>The worker is subject to extreme heat. Temperatures above 100 degrees for periods of more than one hour. Consideration should be given to the effect of other environmental conditions, such as wind and humidity.<\/li>\n<li>The worker is subject to noise. There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above ambient noise level.<\/li>\n<li>The worker is subject to hazards. Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Physical Requirements<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Light work. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and\/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and\/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
