Job Description \u2013 Quality Engineering (Data \/ ETL Testing)<\/span>Position Details<\/b><\/span>Role: Quality Engineering \u2013 Data \/ ETL Tester<\/span>Experience: 4 \u2013 10 Years<\/span>Location: Bangalore<\/span>Employment Type: Full-Time\/Hybrid<\/span>Job Summary<\/b><\/span>We are looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Quality Engineering \u2013 Data \/ ETL Tester with strong expertise in ETL Testing, Databricks, SQL, and Retail Domain. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in validating large-scale data platforms, performing backend\/data testing, and working within Agile delivery environments.<\/span>The candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the quality, integrity, and accuracy of enterprise data solutions by driving end-to-end testing activities including test planning, test execution, defect management, integration testing, and automation initiatives.<\/span>This role requires strong collaboration with business stakeholders, product teams, developers, data engineers, and vendors to ensure high-quality and timely project delivery.<\/span>Key Responsibilities<\/b><\/span>Independently manage and execute end-to-end testing activities for data and analytics projects.<\/span>Analyze business and technical requirements to identify testing scope and test scenarios.<\/span>Design, develop, and execute test cases for:<\/span>ETL Testing<\/span>Data Validation<\/span>Integration Testing<\/span>Deployment Testing<\/span>Regression Testing<\/span>Backend\/Data Testing<\/span>Validate data pipelines and transformations within Databricks\/Spark environments.<\/span>Perform advanced SQL validations on SQL DB\/PostgreSQL\/Databricks platforms.<\/span>Develop and maintain reusable regression test assets and automation frameworks.<\/span>Work closely with Scrum teams to clarify requirements and ensure testability.<\/span>Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives.<\/span>Manage defect lifecycle including defect logging, tracking, prioritization, and validation.<\/span>Coordinate with vendors and development teams for issue resolution and defect fixes.<\/span>Identify test data and test environment requirements.<\/span>Provide accurate test status reports, risk analysis, and RCA (Root Cause Analysis).<\/span>Support CI\/CD and DevOps practices for continuous testing initiatives.<\/span>Mentor and guide junior testers\/test engineers when required.<\/span>Mandatory Skills & Experience<\/b><\/span>Technical Skills<\/b><\/span>Strong hands-on experience in ETL Testing and Data Testing<\/span>Experience working with Databricks \/ Apache Spark<\/span>Strong expertise in:<\/span>SQL<\/span>Data Validation<\/span>Backend Testing<\/span>Good understanding of:<\/span>Azure Data Factory<\/span>Linked Services<\/span>SQL DB \/ PostgreSQL<\/span>Databricks Architecture<\/span>Experience executing SQL queries on:<\/span>SQL Server<\/span>PostgreSQL<\/span>Databricks<\/span>Strong experience in:<\/span>Integration Testing<\/span>Deployment Testing<\/span>Regression Testing<\/span>Defect Management<\/span>Experience with Agile and DevOps methodologies<\/span>Understanding of:<\/span>CI\/CD pipelines<\/span>Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)<\/span>Software Testing Lifecycle (STLC)<\/span>ATDD\/TDD methodologies<\/span>Hands-on experience with:<\/span>VSTS \/ Azure DevOps<\/span>GITg<\/span>JIRA or ALM tools<\/span>Any backend automation experience using Databricks is an added advantage<\/span>Domain Expertise<\/span>Strong experience in the Retail Domain is mandatory<\/span>Exposure to Data & Analytics platforms in Azure\/AWS<\/span>Understanding of AI\/Data-driven testing concepts is a plus<\/span>Soft Skills<\/b><\/span>Excellent verbal and written communication skills<\/span>Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities<\/span>Self-driven, proactive, and result-oriented<\/span>Ability to work collaboratively across teams and time zones<\/span>Strong stakeholder and vendor management skills<\/span>Educational Qualification<\/b><\/span>Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent<\/p>\n
