This group builds modern, scalable enterprise platforms that enhance business banking capabilities across payments, onboarding, administration, and money\u2011movement workflows.<\/span>As a Lead Engineer, you will provide technical leadership, drive architectural decisions, mentor engineers, and ensure delivery of high\u2011quality, cloud\u2011native digital banking solutions. You will work across cross\u2011functional teams to set engineering standards, guide solution design, and influence product direction.<\/span>What You Will Be Doing<\/b><\/span>Technical Leadership & Architecture<\/span>Own the end\u2011to\u2011end technical design, architecture, and implementation of complex full\u2011stack solutions.<\/span>Lead development of scalable applications using React, Node.js, TypeScript, AWS, and modern event\u2011driven architectures.<\/span>Define engineering standards, best practices, coding conventions, and CI\/CD guidelines for the team.<\/span>Evaluate new technologies, tools, and patterns to improve system performance, resilience, and security.<\/span>Core Engineering & Delivery<\/span>Build and guide development of reusable components, REST APIs, backend services, and cloud\u2011native capabilities.<\/span>Ensure high\u2011quality, maintainable code with strong adherence to engineering principles.<\/span>Oversee critical production issue analysis, root\u2011cause identification, and long\u2011term corrective actions.<\/span>Problem Solving & Technical Ownership<\/span>Break down complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions.<\/span>Troubleshoot complex issues across the stack (frontend, backend, integration, cloud).<\/span>Optimize system performance, memory usage, and application reliability.<\/span>Quality, Testing & Governance<\/span>Champion automated testing practices: unit, integration, and performance testing.<\/span>Drive code reviews for maintainability, security, and scalability.<\/span>Introduce engineering governance practices including static code analysis, observability, and DevOps automation.<\/span>Collaboration & Mentoring<\/span>Work closely with Product, Architecture, QA, Cloud, Security, and cross\u2011functional teams.<\/span>Mentor, coach, and upskill engineers; influence team culture and technical direction.<\/span>Lead design discussions, architecture reviews, and contribute to roadmap planning.<\/span>What You Bring<\/b><\/span>7\u201310+ years of overall experience in full\u2011stack development with increasing ownership.<\/span>Deep expertise in React.js, modern JavaScript\/TypeScript, UI patterns, and frontend architecture.<\/span>Strong backend development experience with Node.js, TypeScript, REST APIs, microservices, and integration patterns.<\/span>Proven experience designing solutions using AWS cloud services (Lambda, ECS\/EKS, SQS\/SNS, DynamoDB\/RDS, API Gateway).<\/span>Strong database expertise (Oracle\/SQL Server); understanding of distributed data patterns.<\/span>Hands\u2011on experience setting up scalable CI\/CD pipelines, Git\u2011based workflows, and DevOps practices.<\/span>Experience guiding or integrating with API Gateway solutions (Kong Gateway preferred).<\/span>Exposure to AI\/ML or LLM\u2011based applications is a strong advantage.<\/span>Excellent analytical, debugging, and complex problem\u2011solving abilities.<\/span>Strong communication skills with ability to influence stakeholders and lead teams.<\/span>Ability to handle multiple priorities, drive outcomes, and deliver high\u2011quality results in an Agile environment.<\/span>What We Offer You<\/b><\/span>An opportunity to lead high\u2011impact engineering initiatives at the world\u2019s leading FinTech organization.<\/span>A vibrant, collaborative culture and career growth within the digital banking and payments domain.<\/span>A high\u2011responsibility, multi\u2011dimensional role with the opportunity to shape engineering excellence.<\/span>A broad range of professional education and personal development paths \u2014 FIS is your final career step!<\/span>Privacy Statement<\/span>FIS is committed to protecting the privacy and security of all personal information that we process in order to provide services to our clients.
