{"id":169979,"date":"2026-03-30T03:48:35","date_gmt":"2026-03-30T03:48:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.whitehattoolbox.com\/jobs\/were-hiring-hardware-principle-technical-expert-3\/"},"modified":"2026-03-30T03:48:35","modified_gmt":"2026-03-30T03:48:35","slug":"were-hiring-hardware-principle-technical-expert-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.whitehattoolbox.com\/jobs\/were-hiring-hardware-principle-technical-expert-3\/","title":{"rendered":"We\u2019re Hiring Hardware principle technical expert"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>Key Responsibilities<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Requirements Engineering &#038; Traceability<\/li>\n<li>Lead definition, decomposition, and validation of hardware requirements from system and stakeholder inputs (functional, electrical, environmental, safety, regulatory).<\/li>\n<li>Own the requirements baseline in IBM DOORS (Next Gen) and\/or Jama Connect: module structure, attributes, link rules, versioning, and workflow.<\/li>\n<li>Establish and enforce bi-directional traceability from stakeholder &#8211; system &#8211; hardware &#8211; design artifacts &#8211; verification &#8211; validation (V-model).<\/li>\n<li>Drive requirement quality (clear, unambiguous, testable, verifiable, atomic, bounded) using checklists and automated quality tools where available.<\/li>\n<li>Run change control (ECR\/ECO) and impact analysis on requirements\/design\/test, managing baselines and variants across platforms\/SKUs.<\/li>\n<li>Product Development Leadership<\/li>\n<li>Translate requirements into architectural choices and design constraints for PCBs, power, analog\/mixed-signal, digital, high-speed interfaces, and environmental constraints.<\/li>\n<li>Collaborate with Electrical Design, Layout, and FW to ensure requirements are feasible, cost-optimized, and testable.<\/li>\n<li>Align requirements with DFx (DFT\/DFM\/DFR), EMI\/EMC, safety (e.g., IEC\/UL), thermal, and reliability objectives.<\/li>\n<li>Guide teams through FMEA, FTA, worst-case analysis (WCA), tolerance analysis, derating, and component selection aligned to lifecycle and obsolescence plans.<\/li>\n<li>Own verification planning for hardware (test strategy, methods, coverage), and ensure traceability to verification evidence (lab reports, simulations, compliance certificates).<\/li>\n<li>Process &#038; Governance<\/li>\n<li>Conduct requirements reviews and gate readiness (SRR, PDR, CDR, QR, PR).<\/li>\n<li>Coach teams on DOORS\/Jama usage, link rules, attributes, and best practices; act as tool admin for projects where needed.<\/li>\n<li>Drive continuous improvement in requirement quality, defect prevention, and re-use libraries.<\/li>\n<li>Stakeholder &#038; Communication<\/li>\n<li>Serve as the single point of contact for hardware requirement clarifications with Systems Engineering, Product Management, and Customers.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare and present status, risk, and coverage dashboards (trace matrices, verification progress, open issues).<\/li>\n<li>Lead cross-functional problem-solving to resolve requirement conflicts, ambiguities, and compliance gaps.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Must-Have Qualifications<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>12-18+ years overall hardware development experience, including 5+ years owning requirements in DOORS and\/or Jama for complex products.<\/li>\n<li>Strong background in analog\/mixed-signal or digital hardware (power supplies, microcontrollers, high-speed interfaces, sensors, communication buses).<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated expertise in requirements decomposition, traceability, and verification planning (V-model).<\/li>\n<li>Hands-on with DOORS \/ DOORS NG and\/or Jama Connect: schema design, baselining, change management, traceability reports, reviews.<\/li>\n<li>Experience with EMI\/EMC, safety compliance, and environmental requirements translation into design constraints and verification.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to write clear, testable requirements and lead technical reviews.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p> Looking to make an IMPACT with your career?<span class=\"br\"><\/span>When you are thinking about joining a new team, culture matters.
