, Singapore<\/span>Job Family Group: Trading Jobs<\/span>Worker Type: Regular<\/span>Posting Start Date: March 26, 2026<\/span>Business Unit: Trading and Supply<\/span>Experience Level: Experienced Professionals<\/span>Job Description:<\/b><\/span>What\u2019s the role<\/span>This role offers an opportunity to develop as a physical LNG trader within the Shell LNG Marketing & Trading (SLMT) organization, with responsibility for executing trades and optimising positions across Asian LNG markets under the guidance of Team Leader. The role requires a strong team\u2011player mindset, with active collaboration across the trading desk to deliver collective portfolio outcomes.<\/span>What you\u2019ll be doing<\/span>The LNG Physical Trader supports physical LNG trading and portfolio optimisation activities across Asia, with a focus on the Asia Pacific region. A key aspect of the role is the identification, valuation, and management of price optionality embedded in physical LNG contracts, cargo timing, and destination flexibility.<\/span>You are expected to contribute to value creation through disciplined execution, market analysis, and optimisation of physical LNG positions, while building deeper commercial and market expertise. Moreover:<\/span>Trade spot and strip LNG cargoes for profit while generating best\u2011in\u2011class market insights.<\/span>Manage price risk and exposure across JKM, TTF, HH, JCC, Brent\u2011linked LNG, and regional gas benchmarks using physical and derivative trades.<\/span>Optimize Shell\u2019s LNG portfolio in coordination with the Optimization Trading team.<\/span>Manage seasonal demand exposure and contract optionality within agreed strategies.<\/span>Identify and manage price optionality from contract structures, index linkages, timing, and destination flexibility.<\/span>Execute physical LNG cargo trades within delegated authorities and strategy guidelines.<\/span>Optimize LNG positions across supply, demand, shipping, and contractual flexibility.<\/span>Maintain and grow commercial relationships with assigned counterparties.<\/span>Coordinate with shipping and operations teams for safe, timely cargo execution and manage associated risks.<\/span>Provide market analysis and support negotiation, administration, and compliance for LNG contracts and portfolio performance targets.<\/span>What you bring<\/b><\/span>2\u20135 years\u2019 experience in LNG Trading role. Oil, gas, or energy\u2011related trading or strong commercial roles is a plus.<\/span>Native Japanese speaker with full professional fluency in English<\/span>Good understanding of Japanese LNG market structure, buyer behaviour, and contracting practices is a strong plus<\/span>Solid knowledge of LNG supply\u2011demand fundamentals and pricing mechanisms<\/span>Experience or strong interest in physical contracts, logistics, shipping interfaces and physical options management<\/span>Familiarity with ETRMS \/ trading systems (e.g. DEX\/ ENDUR \/ Aligne) is a strong plus<\/span>Sound analytical skills with high numeracy and attention to detail<\/span>Strong communication and relationship\u2011management skills<\/span>Demonstrated ability to work effectively and reliably as part of a trading team, contributing constructively under pressure<\/span>Practical experience in managing price or a strong capability to develop these skills<\/span>What we offer<\/b><\/span>You bring your skills and experience to Shell and in return you work with talented, committed people on one of the most important challenges facing our planet.
