This vital role is focused on the success of the Owner Controlled Insurance Program (OCIP) and requires expertise in providing guidance on complex construction activities related to safety, insurance, regulatory compliance, and risk management.<span class=\"br\"><\/span>The DEC team is responsible for building and maintaining the foundational data centers that enable *** software to operate efficiently. Ensuring these data centers are built and operated correctly from day one is essential for capacity availability and capital conservatism. The successful candidate will contribute to a safe jobsite by providing essential loss control services to the project team.<span class=\"br\"><\/span><b>Responsibilities:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Conduct comprehensive risk assessments for all construction-related tasks.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain a collaborative working relationship with the project team to strive for zero incidents.<\/li>\n<li>Provide guidance to the project team and contractors on implementing effective site safety methodologies.<\/li>\n<li>Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and reporting for corrective action implementation.<\/li>\n<li>Work closely with the ICM loss control team to ensure deliverables and job functions meet minimum standards.<\/li>\n<li>Assist and participate in on-site training to enhance overall safety efforts.<\/li>\n<li>Actively foster cross-functional relationships to encourage cooperation and advance safety initiatives.<\/li>\n<li>Integrate seamlessly into the construction sequence to facilitate best-in-class safety performance.<\/li>\n<li>Effectively manage functions within an OCIP environment.<\/li>\n<li>While primarily site-based, travel will be required (0-30%) to gain knowledge and provide support as needed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p> Minimum Qualifications: <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>8 + years of dedicated construction safety experience.<\/li>\n<li>Experience operating within an Owner Controlled Insurance Program (OCIP) environment.<\/li>\n<li>Proven experience in implementing Environmental Health &#038; Safety enhancement programs.<\/li>\n<li>Experience in effective partnership with team members and contractors.<\/li>\n<li>Industry knowledge encompassing the design and deployment of technical electrical and mechanical systems relevant to data center construction.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of design and construction industry practices, including the fast-track design-build process, associated documents, and contracts.<\/li>\n<li>Experience with ground-up construction and greenfield site development requirements.<\/li>\n<li>Experience with retrofit projects in live mission-critical or occupied environments.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p> Preferred Qualifications: <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor&#8217;s degree in Occupational Health and Safety from an accredited university.<\/li>\n<li>Current Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) designation through the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP).<\/li>\n<li>OSHA 500 certification.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p> Must-Have Skills: <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Construction safety leadership on active job sites (8 + years in a dedicated safety role)<\/li>\n<li>OCIP experience + strong risk management \/ loss control mindset<\/li>\n<li>Incident investigation skills (root cause analysis, corrective actions, reporting) and ability to partner with contractors<\/li>\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s in Occupational Health &#038; Safety and Certifications: CSP or CHST (BCSP) and OSHA 50<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Nice-to-Have Skills:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Deep familiarity with mission-critical\/data center MEP systems (electrical + mechanical)<\/li>\n<li>Experience with ground-up\/greenfield builds and retrofit work in live\/occupied environments<\/li>\n<li>Ability to deliver on-site safety training and drive EHS program improvements<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p> Pursuant to the California Fair Chance Act, Los Angeles County Fair Chance Ordinance for Employers, Los Angeles Fair Chance Initiative for Hiring Ordinance, and San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance, qualified applicants will be considered for assignment with arrest and conviction records.
