Join us to make positive change by helping build a better world where every person is free to move and pursue their dreams.<span class=\"br\"><\/span>In this position&#8230;<span class=\"br\"><\/span>This position will focus on designing and implementing core components of the Android framework, enhancing the performance, reliability, and security of our IVI platform. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of Android&#8217;s architecture and will thrive in a collaborative environment.<span class=\"br\"><\/span><b>Responsibilities:<\/b><span class=\"br\"><\/span><b>What you&#8217;ll do&#8230;<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Drive the design and development of system-level components and libraries within the Android framework.<\/li>\n<li>Build HAL, AIDL interfaces and android services<\/li>\n<li>Work closely with product managers, UX designers, and hardware teams to gather requirements and define technical solutions.<\/li>\n<li>Analyze performance bottlenecks and troubleshoot system issues, ensuring high efficiency and user satisfaction.<\/li>\n<li>Conduct thorough code reviews and ensure adherence to best coding practices and high-quality standards.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain comprehensive documentation covering architecture, workflows, and technical specifications.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Qualifications:<\/b><span class=\"br\"><\/span><b>You&#8217;ll have&#8230;<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor&#8217;s or Master&#8217;s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.<\/li>\n<li>8+ years of software development experience, particularly in Android development and AOSP-based platforms.<\/li>\n<li>Strong expertise in Java, Kotlin, and C\/C++; familiarity with Rust is a plus.<\/li>\n<li>Deep understanding of Android OS internals, lifecycle management, services, and IPC methods (Binder).<\/li>\n<li>Proven experience in developing and integrating hardware abstraction layers (HAL) to facilitate communication between hardware and software.<\/li>\n<li>Familiarity with Android Interface Definition Language (AIDL) for defining and managing IPC mechanisms.<\/li>\n<li>Proficient in using modern development tools and methodologies, including Agile practices and CI\/CD pipelines.<\/li>\n<li>Proven ability to analyze and optimize system performance while considering user experience.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p> You may not check every box, or your experience may look a little different from what we&#8217;ve outlined, but if you think you can bring value to Ford Motor Company, we encourage you to apply!<br \/>\n       As an established global company, we offer the benefit of choice.
