Our technology doesn&#8217;t serve ads or stream movies &#8211; it moves money, supports businesses, and underpins New Zealand&#8217;s economy.<span class=\"br\"><\/span>We&#8217;re looking for an experienced Software Technical Test Specialist to join our Payments Tribe, working on domestic payments systems that must be secure, resilient, and always available.<span class=\"br\"><\/span>This role is ideal for a senior test engineer who enjoys working close to the technology, cares deeply about quality, and wants to make a real impact on systems used by customers every day.<span class=\"br\"><\/span><b>What you&#8217;ll be working on<\/b><span class=\"br\"><\/span>You&#8217;ll be part of a cross-functional, agile squad delivering and supporting ASB&#8217;s domestic payments capabilities for business and corporate customers.<span class=\"br\"><\/span>The work spans a mix of modern and established systems, complex integrations, and high throughput payment flows &#8211; where quality, performance and reliability really matter.<span class=\"br\"><\/span>You&#8217;ll play a key role in shaping how testing is done within the squad, with a strong focus on automation, performance testing and quality engineering rather than manual-only testing.<span class=\"br\"><\/span><b>Your responsibilities will include:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Reviewing requirements and technical designs with a quality first mindset<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Defining and executing pragmatic, agile test strategies and test plans<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Building, maintaining and evolving automated test frameworks (SpecFlow \/ ReqNRoll)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Designing and executing performance testing (e.g. LoadRunner, JMeter)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Testing across system, integration, API and end-to-end layers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Analysing and clearly communicating test results, risks and defects<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Identifying issues within payment flows and advising on root cause and impact<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Working closely with engineers, product owners and stakeholders to support end-to-end testing and release signoff<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Acting as the voice of test engineering within the squad, lifting quality standards and practices<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>What you&#8217;ll bring to the role<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Strong experience in test engineering, with a quality driven mindset<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Hands-on experience testing payments systems or other high throughput, regulated platforms<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Solid automation testing experience using SpecFlow or ReqNRoll<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Proven capability across functional, system, integration, API, end-to-end and performance testing<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience working with Azure DevOps and CI\/CD pipelines<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Comfort working in agile, cross-functional teams<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Confidence mentoring others and influencing testing best practice<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience defining test strategies, test plans, estimates and exit criteria<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>3+ years of experience of testing within the Payments industry.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Nice to have:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Banking or broader financial services experience<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>ISTQB Foundation certification<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Exposure to cloud technologies<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p> Working at ASB<span class=\"br\"><\/span>ASB&#8217;s values guide how we work with each other, our customers and our communities.
