The team develops cloud-native applications on AWS, delivering scalable frontend and backend components that integrate seamlessly with IG\u2019s trading systems and services.<span class=\"br\"><\/span>Your role in the Team\u2019s Success<span class=\"br\"><\/span>In this role, you will design, build, and evolve cloud-native applications on AWS that power IG\u2019s real-time client trading platforms used by clients globally. You will contribute to frontend architecture and technical decisions to ensure scalability, performance, and resilience under high user load and real-time data conditions. Working closely with product, platform, and co engineering teams, you will deliver secure, high-performance client experiences integrated with IG\u2019s trading systems. You will take end-to-end ownership of features from design through production, driving engineering quality and operational excellence. Your contributions will directly influence platform reliability, performance, and the evolution of IG\u2019s modern cloud-native architecture.<span class=\"br\"><\/span>What you\u2019ll do<span class=\"br\"><\/span>Design, develop, and maintain scalable, cloud-native frontend applications using React.js, TypeScript, React Native, and AWS, delivering high-performance client trading experiences.<span class=\"br\"><\/span>Build and integrate secure, reliable backend services and APIs using AWS Lambda, API Gateway, and related cloud-native technologies.<span class=\"br\"><\/span>Contribute to frontend architecture, performance optimization, and engineering best practices to ensure responsiveness, scalability, and resilience under real-time trading workloads.<span class=\"br\"><\/span>Deploy, monitor, and operate applications on AWS using services such as S3, CloudFront, and serverless infrastructure, ensuring high availability and reliability in production.<span class=\"br\"><\/span>Implement automated testing, participate in CI\/CD pipelines, and drive improvements in code quality, maintainability, and deployment confidence.<span class=\"br\"><\/span>Collaborate closely with product, platform, and backend teams to design, deliver, and continuously improve production-grade trading applications with full feature ownership.<span class=\"br\"><\/span>What you\u2019ll need for this role<span class=\"br\"><\/span>Key Qualification Requirements:<span class=\"br\"><\/span>8\u201310 years of frontend development experience with strong expertise in React.js, React Native, Next.js, Redux, and component-driven architecture<span class=\"br\"><\/span>Minimum 3\u20134 years of hands-on experience designing, developing, and deploying cloud-native applications on AWS using services such as Lambda, API Gateway, S3, CloudFront, and related infrastructure.<span class=\"br\"><\/span>Proficiency in using AI-assisted development tools to improve engineering productivity and efficiency.<span class=\"br\"><\/span>Strong proficiency in TypeScript, JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, CSS3, and modern frontend build tools such as Webpack, Babel, and Vite.<span class=\"br\"><\/span>Mandatory experience building and deploying cloud-native applications on AWS (S3, CloudFront, Lambda, API Gateway, Amplify).<span class=\"br\"><\/span>Experience with Progressive Web Apps (PWA), Service Workers, caching strategies, and frontend performance optimization.<span class=\"br\"><\/span>Hands-on experience with unit testing (Jest, React Testing Library), TDD practices, and modern CI\/CD pipelines.<span class=\"br\"><\/span>Strong understanding of frontend architecture, RESTful APIs, browser internals, and delivering production-grade applications at scale.<span class=\"br\"><\/span>Experience handling end-to-end feature ownership, including design, development, testing, and deployment.<span class=\"br\"><\/span>Experience mentoring junior engineers and contributing to engineering excellence within the team.<span class=\"br\"><\/span>Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools (such as GitHub Copilot or similar) to improve productivity and engineering efficiency.<span class=\"br\"><\/span>Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical concepts, collaborate effectively across teams, and contribute positively to engineering culture and decision-making.<span class=\"br\"><\/span><b>How we work<\/b><span class=\"br\"><\/span>We try to take a thoughtful approach to our ways of working as a company.
