{"id":143905,"date":"2026-02-21T05:08:44","date_gmt":"2026-02-21T05:08:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.whitehattoolbox.com\/jobs\/were-hiring-lead-cost-controller\/"},"modified":"2026-02-21T05:08:44","modified_gmt":"2026-02-21T05:08:44","slug":"were-hiring-lead-cost-controller","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.whitehattoolbox.com\/jobs\/were-hiring-lead-cost-controller\/","title":{"rendered":"We\u2019re Hiring Lead Cost Controller"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Title: Lead Cost Controller<span class=\"br\"><\/span>Lead Cost Controller<span class=\"br\"><\/span><b>Primary Objectives<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Develop, coordinate and manage procedures to ensure the efficient cost control of the Projects, including the recording, controlling, forecasting and reporting of all financial matters.<\/li>\n<li>To proactively support the Project by managing the cost control personnel and their activities across the organization<\/li>\n<li>To assist and support the Project Controls Manager and Cost Department Head<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Responsibilities<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Develop, implement and control the project accounting and job costing system to meet project requirements<\/li>\n<li>Take ownership of the cost control function and ensure integrity of the data being processed<\/li>\n<li>Interface with project personnel to develop project forecasts and analyse project costs<\/li>\n<li>Supervise any supporting roles in the project cost control area<\/li>\n<li>Liaise with clients to clarify cost related issues and develop timely and meaningful monthly invoices. Ensure payment of invoices according to EPCM contract terms<\/li>\n<li>Preparation of project invoices in conjunction with the Accounts Department<\/li>\n<li>Liaise with Client for reporting purposes<\/li>\n<li>Preparation of monthly financial reports for the project. Also prepare other financial analysis as required on an ad hoc basis<\/li>\n<li>Implement financial controls including controlling authorizations of expenditure and cash flow projections<\/li>\n<li>Preparation of budgets in conjunction with engineering and construction team members<\/li>\n<li>Ensure effective coordination and cooperation between other team members, particularly regarding cost, planning (forecasting) and procurement matters<\/li>\n<li>Ensure through quality practices that work is completed accurately and in accordance with company procedures.<\/li>\n<li>Utilize Continuous Improvement processes to ensure consistent quality and fit-for-purpose outcomes.<\/li>\n<li>Promote the identification of potential areas of concern or improvement, to maximize cost effectiveness on projects and work practices.<\/li>\n<li>Develop and maintain a professional, highly skilled Cost Control team through leadership, resources, technical and system support, training and innovation.<\/li>\n<li>Provide advice and guidance to other personnel as required.<\/li>\n<li>Develop and maintain effective working relationships with team members and other personnel.<\/li>\n<li>Provide guidance and support to Asset Cost Controllers and Project Cost Controllers in fulfilling their cost control responsibilities.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain a high level of communication \/ interface with other cost and project control personnel within<\/li>\n<li>Monitor cost control applications to ensure project data integrity.<\/li>\n<li>Provide ad-hoc cost control support \/ advice to Project Engineers and Management.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p> Qualifications including Required Education, Experience, &#038; Skills <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Must have a degree \/ diploma in Science or Financing \/ Accounting.<\/li>\n<li>Must have minimum 10 years post qualification experience<\/li>\n<li>Must have minimum 5 years post qualification experience in oil and gas projects<\/li>\n<li>Must have minimum 5 years experience in a Lead Cost Controller role<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Essential skills<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Proven computer literacy skills with experience in cost and project control computer applications<\/li>\n<li>Proven ability to communicate effectively with others; (verbally, in written communications and in presentations \/ meetings).<\/li>\n<li>Ability to effectively and efficiently plan \/ prioritise all areas of responsibility such as: Budgets; Time management; Resources \u2013 training and succession planning.<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrate an awareness and understanding of industry standard practices in cost control activities.<\/li>\n<li>Experience in audit activities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p> Decarbonization \u2013 Energy Transition \u2013 Sustainability Belong.
