{"id":140582,"date":"2026-02-16T18:36:38","date_gmt":"2026-02-16T18:36:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.whitehattoolbox.com\/jobs\/were-hiring-head-of-department-business-studies\/"},"modified":"2026-02-16T18:36:38","modified_gmt":"2026-02-16T18:36:38","slug":"were-hiring-head-of-department-business-studies","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.whitehattoolbox.com\/jobs\/were-hiring-head-of-department-business-studies\/","title":{"rendered":"We\u2019re Hiring Head of Department &#8211; Business Studies"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>Job Summary<\/b><br \/>\n       One of the most prestigious educational institutions in the Sultanate of Oman requires the services of a qualified, well experienced and Western educated individual for its Department of Business Studies.<span class=\"br\"><\/span>The ideal candidate is expected to carry out the following duties: <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Supervising the setting up and assessment of the department&#8217;s delivery plans and programs in cooperation with the different sections, specifying the obstacles that hinder their implementation and suggesting means of overcoming these obstacles.<\/li>\n<li>Supervising the department, following up the performance of the teaching and technical staff, suggesting means of developing procedures of students, in cooperation with the Heads of Sections.<\/li>\n<li>Implementing quality assurance measures in the academic programs.<\/li>\n<li>Proposing plans for academic research and the annual activities of the department.<\/li>\n<li>Following up students&#8217; academic counseling.<\/li>\n<li>Suggesting criteria and specifications for the department&#8217;s examination.<\/li>\n<li>Identifying the department&#8217;s needs for teaching and technical support staff, equipment and materials. Supervising the setting up of their specifications in cooperation with the heads of sections.<\/li>\n<li>Providing the Dean with the minutes of Departmental Council meetings.<\/li>\n<li>Ensuring the implementation of health and safety measures in laboratories and workshops.<\/li>\n<li>Evaluating staff and heads of sections performance and forwarding the appraisal forms to the Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs.<\/li>\n<li>Carrying out other tasks assigned by the Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Required Skills<\/b><br \/>\n       1. A Doctorate Degree in Business Administration, Management, Accounting or Marketing with about 10 years teaching experience.<br \/>\n       2. Experience in a similar role is highly desirable.<br \/>\n       3.
