{"id":139803,"date":"2026-02-15T11:10:20","date_gmt":"2026-02-15T11:10:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.whitehattoolbox.com\/jobs\/were-hiring-staff-engineer-apss-product-engineer-android\/"},"modified":"2026-02-15T11:10:20","modified_gmt":"2026-02-15T11:10:20","slug":"were-hiring-staff-engineer-apss-product-engineer-android","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.whitehattoolbox.com\/jobs\/were-hiring-staff-engineer-apss-product-engineer-android\/","title":{"rendered":"We\u2019re Hiring Staff Engineer &#8211; APSS Product Engineer (Android)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Company: Qualcomm India Private Limited<span class=\"br\"><\/span>Job Area: Engineering Group, Engineering Group<br \/>\n       Software Engineering<span class=\"br\"><\/span><b>General Summary:<\/b><span class=\"br\"><\/span>The APSS Product Engineer (PE) plays a very important role in Qualcomm&#8217;s product lifecycle, particularly within the Linux and Android domains.<span class=\"br\"><\/span>This role requires deep technical expertise and strong leadership to drive end-to-end software deliverables and cross-functional collaboration.<span class=\"br\"><\/span><b>Key Responsibilities<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Manage the full lifecycle of software deliverables from concept to end-of-life (EOL)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Act as the primary point of contact for internal Linux teams and external stakeholders<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Lead efforts to bring up Android on embedded devices<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Participate in the design, implementation, and debugging of system-level Android features<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Adapt and integrate forward-looking Android features and debugging functionalities into Qualcomm platforms<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Minimum Requirements<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor&#8217;s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field with 8+ years of relevant experience<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience with programming languages such as C, C++, Java, Python<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Expertise in build, integration, and release management (GNU Make, Android, Git)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Familiarity with AOSP and open-source tools<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Proficiency in scripting languages (Shell, Python)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience in Android build systems and integration tools<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Strong debugging and problem-solving skills for Android system-level issues \u2022 Self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Hands-on experience in the above areas preferred Good to Have<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience in Linux CI development and build system enhancements<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Knowledge of AI\/ML algorithms<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience in planning and executing product software integration, testing, and release<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p> Minimum Qualifications: \u2022 Bachelor&#8217;s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.<br \/>\n       OR<br \/>\n       Master&#8217;s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 3+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.<br \/>\n       OR<br \/>\n       PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>2+ years of work experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p> Applicants: Qualcomm is an equal opportunity employer.
