Analyzes, tests and assists with the integration of new applications. Oversees the documentation of all development activity. Trains non-technical personnel. Assists with tracking performance metrics. Integrates knowledge of business and functional priorities. Acts as a key contributor in a complex and crucial environment. May lead teams or projects and shares expertise.<\/span>Job Description<\/b><\/span>Responsible to lead and mentor more junior teammates to deploy and manage infrastructure and distributed network service applications. The infrastructure supporting the network service applications consists of thousands of servers distributed across Comcast\u2019s managed services footprint. As our infrastructure and services continue to scale, we need engineers who can automate the management of infrastructure and applications, streamline deployment pipelines, reduce mean-time-to-recovery, and quickly identify and troubleshoot infrastructure and application issues. You\u2019ll be working with some of Comcast\u2019s best engineers.<\/span>Responsibilities:<\/b><\/span>Support day-to-day operations, including network, infrastructure and application troubleshooting and ticket resolution<\/span>Automate provisioning, configuration, and scaling of server infrastructure using scripting and modern tools like Terraform, Ansible, Chef or Puppet<\/span>Strong experience in Golang and C++<\/span>Develop and maintain technical resources including runbooks, support playbooks, and diagnostic tools<\/span>Lead the effort of setting up, configuring, and maintaining observability tools (e.g., Grafana, Prometheus, etc.) for performance tracking of applications and infrastructure<\/span>Collect and analyze performance metrics to ensure optimal service delivery<\/span>Lead network, infrastructure and application troubleshooting, root cause analysis (RCA), and incident response efforts<\/span>Own high-impact technical escalations and ensure resolution of issues across platform<\/span>Develop and maintain tools or scripts designed to automate routine system operations<\/span>Support CI\/CD pipeline maintenance and deployment workflows<\/span>Work closely with engineering, product, and infrastructure teams to communicate customer needs, report bugs, and suggest improvements<\/span>Ensure operational readiness for application deployment by performing testing, developing dashboards and alarms, and writing support playbooks<\/span>Identify, propose and execute process improvements<\/span>Expertise to perform coding, debugging, testing, and troubleshooting of network service applications<\/span>Mentor junior DevOps engineers and contribute to the growth of the team<\/span>Participate in the on-call rotation by monitoring system health, availability, and performance metrics and responding to incidents, outages or customer inquiries<\/span>Document processes, procedures, and best practices<\/span>Education, Skill, and Requirements:<\/span>Preferred – B.S. in Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering (or equivalent professional experience)<\/span>Strong experience in Golang, C, C++<\/span>Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills<\/span>Experience in managing multiple projects and priorities effectively<\/span>Experience in process improvements<\/span>Experience in mentoring more junior engineers<\/span>6+ years combined service reliability\/operational experience and software development and engineering experience for large scale, high performance distributed systems.<\/span>Strong working knowledge of networking concepts and application protocols such as TCP\/IP, BGP, DNS, TLS, and HTTP\/S<\/span>Strong knowledge managing and debugging Unix\/Linux systems<\/span>Expert in creating and maintaining automation written in scripting languages (Python, Bash, Perl)<\/span>Working experience of GitHub and GitHub Actions<\/span>Experience in configuration management tools (Puppet, Chef, Ansible, Terraform)<\/span>Experience in creating dashboard (Grafana, Kibana, Tableau)<\/span>Customer-focused delivery under agile methodology.<\/span>Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.<\/span>Ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.<\/span>Excellent writing skills.<\/span>Employees at all levels are expected to:<\/p>\n
