Country Programme (CP-10), which envisions an India where every woman and young person, especially those from vulnerable and marginalized communities, enjoys gender equality, can fully realize their sexual and reproductive health and rights, and actively contributes to sustainable development.<span class=\"br\"><\/span>Aligned with the UNFPA Strategic Plan 2022\u20132025, the Programme of Action of the International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD), and the 2030 Agenda, CP-10 focuses on achieving the three transformative results: <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ending preventable maternal deaths<\/li>\n<li>Ending the unmet need for family planning<\/li>\n<li>Ending gender-based violence and harmful practices<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Context:<\/b><span class=\"br\"><\/span>In this context, the UN Youth University Volunteers Communications Associate will support UNFPA\u2019s communications efforts to enhance its visibility, engage wider audiences, and promote the impact of its work through digital storytelling, content creation and strategic social media and influencer engagement.<span class=\"br\"><\/span><b>Task description:<\/b><span class=\"br\"><\/span>As part of the UNFPA Odisha State Office under the direct supervision of the Head of Office and in close coordination with the Communications and Media unit at UNFPA Country Office, UN Youth University Volunteer Communications Associate will be responsible for undertaking the following activities:<span class=\"br\"><\/span>\u25cf Contribute to the development of communication materials such as leaflets, posters, and digital slides using Canva and or other design software.<br \/>\n       \u25cf Help prepare basic content calendar, briefs for events, campaigns, and field visits<br \/>\n       \u25cf Take photos and short videos during events\/field visits using a smartphone and\/or camera (guidance will be provided)<br \/>\n       \u25cf Support event coordination, on-ground communications coverage, and documentation<br \/>\n       \u25cf Draft short stories or testimonials capturing human-interest aspects of the programme<br \/>\n       \u25cf Assist in organizing and archiving photo\/video content and communication files<br \/>\n       \u25cf Help monitor social media engagement and compile basic analytics<br \/>\n       \u25cf Provide support for proofreading, formatting, and reviewing content<br \/>\n       \u25cf Liaise with the Country Office Communications Team to highlight state-specific activities<br \/>\n       \u25cf Monthly reporting to supervisor (State Head Odisha)<span class=\"br\"><\/span>Furthermore, UN Volunteers are required to:<br \/>\n       \u25cf Strengthen their knowledge and understanding of the concept of volunteerism by reading relevant UNV and external publications and take active part in UNV activities (for instance in events that mark International Volunteer Day);<br \/>\n       \u25cf Be acquainted with and build on traditional and\/or local forms of volunteerism in the host country;<br \/>\n       \u25cf Reflect on the type and quality of voluntary action that they are undertaking, including participation in ongoing reflection activities;<br \/>\n       \u25cf Contribute articles\/write-ups on field experiences and submit them for UNV publications\/websites, newsletters, press releases, etc.;<br \/>\n       \u25cf Assist with the UNV Buddy Programme for newly-arrived UN Volunteers;<br \/>\n       \u25cf Promote or advise local groups in the use of online volunteering, or encourage relevant local individuals and organizations to use the UNV Online Volunteering service whenever technically possible.<span class=\"br\"><\/span><b>Requirements:<\/b><span class=\"br\"><\/span>\u25cf Demonstrated interest and\/or experience in communication<span class=\"br\"><\/span><b>Essential:<\/b><br \/>\n       \u25cf Familiarity with Canva for graphic design and video editing and\/or other design software<br \/>\n       \u25cf Comfortable using a smartphone camera\/ DSLR to shoot photos and videos<br \/>\n       \u25cf Interest in visual storytelling, social impact communications, and digital media<br \/>\n       \u25cf Willingness to learn and apply basic design principles (composition, colour, text hierarchy, etc.)<br \/>\n       \u25cf Ability to manage multiple tasks, respond to feedback, and meet agreed deadlines<br \/>\n       \u25cf Strong attention to detail and good organizational skills<br \/>\n       \u25cf Exposure to or interest in AI-based multimedia tools<span class=\"br\"><\/span><b>Desirable:<\/b><br \/>\n       \u25cf Experience contributing to college-level communications, student-led campaigns, or social media pages<br \/>\n       \u25cf Basic understanding of video editing workflows (e.g., adding subtitles, music, voiceover)<br \/>\n       \u25cf Proficient in basic sketching and drawing using a stylus for visual communication and concept development.<br \/>\n       \u25cf Previous experience as a volunteer and\/or experience of another culture, (i.e. studies, volunteer work, internship) would be highly regarded.<span
