This role is pivotal in ensuring data protection, integrity, availability, and regulatory compliance within highly regulated environments such as Pharma, Healthcare, and BFSI.<span class=\"br\"><\/span>The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing backup platforms across on-premises and cloud environments, strong technical proficiency with tools such as Actifio, Veritas, Commvault, Rubrik, Veeam, and familiarity with GxP, 21 CFR Part 11, and audit requirements. The role also requires a sound understanding of virtualization, storage, cloud backup, and data classification and resiliency.<span class=\"br\"><\/span><b>Areas of Responsibility<\/b><span class=\"br\"><\/span>Backup &#038; Restore Operations <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Manage daily operations of enterprise backup solutions, including scheduling, monitoring, and validating backup jobs.<\/li>\n<li>Perform regular data restore testing to verify RTO\/RPO compliance.<\/li>\n<li>Handle escalation and resolution of backup failures, job exceptions, and system issues.<\/li>\n<li>Administer tape backup and archival management, including encryption, vaulting, and lifecycle tracking.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p> Technical Platform Management <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Administer hybrid backup platforms across VMware\/Hyper-V, SAN\/NAS storage, and cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP).<\/li>\n<li>Implement and manage cloud-based backup services and immutable storage for ransomware protection.<\/li>\n<li>Create and maintain HLDs\/LLDs, SOPs, validation scripts, and compliance documentation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p> Compliance, Audit &#038; Validation <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ensure all backup systems and operations align with GxP, 21 CFR Part 11, HIPAA, and corporate audit standards.<\/li>\n<li>Participate in internal and external audits and assist in the preparation of documentation and evidence.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain system validation lifecycle documentation for regulated applications.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p> Data Governance &#038; Resiliency <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Implement data classification, tagging, and backup policies based on sensitivity and criticality.<\/li>\n<li>Support business continuity and DR planning by ensuring recoverability of mission-critical data.<\/li>\n<li>Monitor storage usage trends and manage data archival and retention strategies.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p> Project &#038; Vendor Coordination <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Collaborate with infrastructure and application teams for backup onboarding of new systems.<\/li>\n<li>Support the Backup Lead in preparing RFPs, RFIs, BOMs, and project execution activities.<\/li>\n<li>Interface with OEMs and vendors to ensure service delivery, upgrades, patching, and compliance.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p> Reporting &#038; Stakeholder Communication <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Generate and share weekly\/monthly backup performance and compliance reports.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain dashboards and documentation for internal IT teams and external auditors.<\/li>\n<li>Provide input to leadership on capacity planning, license utilization, and upgrade planning.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p> Travel Estimate<span class=\"br\"><\/span><b>Job Scope<\/b><span class=\"br\"><\/span>Internal Interactions (within the organization)<span class=\"br\"><\/span>IT functional team across globe.<span class=\"br\"><\/span>External Interactions (outside the organization)<span class=\"br\"><\/span>Vendors and OEM&#8217;s<span class=\"br\"><\/span>Geographical Scope<span class=\"br\"><\/span>Global<span class=\"br\"><\/span>Financial Accountability (cost\/revenue with exclusive authority)<span class=\"br\"><\/span><b>Job Requirements<\/b><span class=\"br\"><\/span><b>Educational Qualification<\/b><span class=\"br\"><\/span>Bachelor&#8217;s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field<span class=\"br\"><\/span>Specific Certification<span class=\"br\"><\/span>Certification &#038; Trainings on following technology domains: <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Certifications such as Veeam VMCE, Commvault Professional, Veritas Certified Specialist, AWS\/Azure\/GCP cloud certifications, or equivalent.<\/li>\n<li>Project management certification (PMP, PRINCE2) and familiarity with ITIL.<\/li>\n<li>Experience in regulated industries: Pharma, Healthcare, BFSI.<\/li>\n<li>Familiarity with data classification tools, encryption methods, and DLP policies.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of data immutability, air-gapping strategies, and ransomware recovery best practices.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Experience<\/b><span class=\"br\"><\/span>8-10 Years of experience<span class=\"br\"><\/span><b>Required Qualifications<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>8-10 years of relevant experience in data backup administration and recovery<\/li>\n<li>Hands-on expertise with at least 3-4 major backup platforms: Actifio, Veritas, Commvault, Rubrik, Veeam, Google Cloud Backup<\/li>\n<li>Solid experience in virtualization platforms, SAN\/NAS\/Object storage systems<\/li>\n<li>Strong understanding of tape and cloud archival, data classification, immutability, and resiliency strategies<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge and experience in regulated environments with compliance standards such as GxP, 21 CFR Part 11, HIPAA, ISO 27001<\/li>\n<li>Proactive and analytical mindset with a passion for operational excellence.<\/li>\n<li>Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a global team environment.<\/li>\n<li>Pharma or BFSI industry exposure is highly desirable.<\/li>\n<li>Pharma industry experience is an advantage.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p> Your Success Matters to Us<span class=\"br\"><\/span>At Sun Pharma, your success and well-being are our top priorities!
