The Piping Engineering &#038; Analysis discipline also performs the following specialty topics. <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Vibration monitoring and analysis to evaluate system operational vibrations associated with plant modifications and operating events, and to provide vibration prevention and mitigation solutions and designs.<\/li>\n<li>Evaluation of hydraulic transients, evaluation of piping systems for thermal stratification effects, operability evaluations, and qualification of piping for hydrodynamic loads.<\/li>\n<li>Pipe rupture evaluations, evaluation of pipe wall thinning due to flow accelerated corrosion (FAC) or microbiological induced corrosion (MIC), and pipe flaw evaluations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Position Specific Details<\/b><span class=\"br\"><\/span>Provides senior-level technical support by performing a variety of engineering tasks such as preparing and reviewing calculations and designs of a complex nature. On a task basis, is responsible for the preparation and completion of discipline engineering designs that are responsive to project needs. Monitors the work of assigned staff to ensure requirements are met.<span class=\"br\"><\/span>Senior-Level staff support engineering design projects with the following responsibilities: <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Prepares and reviews complex calculations.<\/li>\n<li>Reviews simple system\/structural designs and prepares complex system designs.<\/li>\n<li>Prepares documented design input for drawing production (i.e., P&#038;IDs and Master Diagrams). Reviews design input for simple system\/structures. Performs engineering review of drawings.<\/li>\n<li>Prepares and reviews equipment specifications. Prepares material specifications.<\/li>\n<li>Prepares bid evaluations for systems and larger components. Prepares calculations to support economic evaluations. Solicits data from vendors.<\/li>\n<li>Prepares and reviews simple reports\/studies.<\/li>\n<li>Develops single-discipline\/simple-scope project budgets, schedules, and project work plans. Monitors own work to ensure it is completed within budget and on schedule.<\/li>\n<li>Provides single-discipline input to simple proposals.<\/li>\n<li>Uses effective written and oral communication skills to convey information to project team members and managers. Presents written technical information in a clear and concise manner in all deliverables.<\/li>\n<li>Prepares reports and deliverables that are clearly understood and meet client requirements. Communicates clearly in meetings with client, and summarizes meeting notes in a clear and timely manner.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p> This position is based on a hybrid work schedule and will require in-office work 3 days per week. Qualifications:<span class=\"br\"><\/span>We do not sponsor employees for work authorization in the U.S. for this position.<span class=\"br\"><\/span><b>Required Skills and Experience:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Mechanics, Aerospace, or Structural\/Civil Engineering, from an ABET Engineering Accreditation Commission-approved program, with an emphasis in solid mechanics, structural analysis, theory of elasticity, metallurgy, and finite element analysis<\/li>\n<li>5 or more years of relevant experience<\/li>\n<li>Must have knowledge of ASME B31.1 and ASME B&#038;PV Section III piping codes<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of the design, selection, and application of pipe supporting elements<\/li>\n<li>Working knowledge of commercially available piping products and their application<\/li>\n<li>Strong written and verbal communication skills<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p> Valued but Not Required Skills and Experience: <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>P.E. license<\/li>\n<li>Working knowledge of commercially available piping products and their application<\/li>\n<li>The ability to navigate a 3D CAD model<\/li>\n<li>Experience with AutoPIPE or PIPESTRESS software<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of gas dynamics and hydraulic transients<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of pipe condition assessment<\/li>\n<li>Experience with ANSYS Workbench and Mechanical ADP<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p> Award-Winning Benefits:<span class=\"br\"><\/span>At Sargent &#038; Lundy, we care about the health and well-being of our employees.
