We currently have an opportunity within SPIE Global Services Energy Middle East LLC Doha, Qatar for a :<\/span>Senior Process Engineer<\/span>1. Environmental Compliance & Awareness<\/span>Monitor EPCC Contractor’s activities to ensure full compliance with QatarEnergy, MIC, and MOECC regulations.
\n Ensure implementation of Project-specific environmental standards and best practices.
\n Promote environmentally responsible behavior on-site through awareness campaigns and engagement with site teams.<\/span>2. Risk Management & Monitoring<\/span>Identify and assess environmental risks specific to ammonia and urea production (e.g., ammonia leaks, effluent discharge, NOx emissions).
\n Collect and analyze environmental monitoring data (air quality, noise, water, soil) to detect trends and ensure compliance.
\n Recommend and follow up on preventive and corrective actions based on monitoring results.<\/span>3. EPCC Contractor Oversight<\/span>Review and comment on EPCC Contractor’s HSE procedures, focusing on environmental controls and mitigation measures.
\n Coordinate joint environmental campaigns (e.g., waste segregation, spill prevention) and conduct surveillance inspections.
\n Track EPCC Contractor’s responses to environmental issues and ensure timely closure of observations and non-conformances.<\/span>4. Coordination & Support<\/span>Support the Project HSE Manager in achieving full HSE compliance, with a focus on environmental performance.
\n Participate in safety walks, inspections, and audits, providing environmental insights and recommendations.
\n Ensure contractual environmental obligations are met and report any deviations to Project Management.<\/span>5. Documentation & Reporting<\/span>Maintain comprehensive environmental records, including permits, inspection reports, monitoring logs, and incident reports.
\n Prepare and submit environmental compliance reports to Project Management, MIC authorities, and other stakeholders as required.
\n Contribute to monthly HSE dashboards and reports with environmental KPIs and highlights.<\/span>6. Engineering Development & Cross-Functional Reviews<\/span>Actively participate in engineering development activities to ensure environmental considerations are integrated into design and execution.
\n Contribute to cross-functional reviews such as:
\n QRA (Quantitative Risk Assessment)
\n HAZID (Hazard Identification)
\n HAZOP (Hazard and Operability Study)
\n EIA (Environmental Impact Assessment)
\n Provide expert environmental input to ensure risks are identified early and mitigated effectively.<\/span>7. Environmental Permitting & Consent to Operate<\/span>Support EPCC Contractor in fulfilling requirements for obtaining the Environmental Permit from relevant authorities.
\n Assist in setting up a robust tracking system to monitor and follow up on all conditions and commitments stated in the Environmental Permit and other related permits.
\n Ensure timely compliance with permit conditions to facilitate smooth receipt of the Consent to Operate from MIC and other regulatory bodies.<\/span>Profile<\/b><\/span>Ideally, you will have graduated with minimum Higher Secondary School Education plus a three-year technical diploma (HNC, HND or equivalent).<\/span>Relevant Work Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Planning and skills in planning integrated activities in offshore level on-field equipment in diversified oil & gas processing or petrochemical plants.<\/span>You are fluent in English with both written and verbal communication<\/span>You will have good interpersonal and organizational skills, as well as, a good level of computer literacy and be proficient in Microsoft Office.<\/span>– High School Diploma \/ Technical certificate in Discipline.
