Job Summary<\/b><\/span>To provide proper performance of functions involved in the safe, efficient distribution of medications, in accordance with relevant laws, rules, regulations and standards of pharmaceutical care.<\/span>Job Responsibilities 1<\/span>Reviews prescriptions to determine the appropriateness of medication therapy.<\/span>Processes both cash and insurance prescriptions.<\/span>Ensures the cash collection is secure and correct at all times.<\/span>Contacts insurance companies to resolve billing issues.<\/span>Properly handles controlled medications and prescriptions and ensures the controlled medication stock is correct and secure at all times.<\/span>Advises patient on the correct administration of drugs.<\/span>Monitors patient medication profile in order to prevent drug interactions, allergic and adverse drug reactions.<\/span>Provides drug information and communicates with prescribers and other staff regarding drug therapy or safe drug handling.<\/span>Performs patient teaching functions on appropriate use of medications.<\/span>Performs quality control checks in accordance with departmental procedures.<\/span>Compounds and dispenses medications as prescribed by doctors and dentists, by calculating, weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients, or oversees these activities.<\/span>Monitors and reports adverse drug reaction and medication errors.<\/span>Selects medications and alternatives.<\/span>Conducts orientation, training, and educational programs as required.<\/span>Conducts quality improvement tasks in conjunction with other staff members.<\/span>Job Responsibilities 2<\/span>Monitors and oversees that the Pharmacy is kept in a neat, clean and orderly fashion.<\/span>Performs all duties in a professional, effective, and confidential manner.<\/span>Performs all other duties as required or assigned.<\/span>Actively participates in the departmental Quality Improvement Program<\/span>Actively participates in departmental motivational program to enhance patient \/ customer relations.<\/span>Introduces himself to the patient and explains the therapy at all times.<\/span>Supports hospital policies and serves as a professional role model for all staff.<\/span>Effectively communicates with colleagues, superiors, and all medical staff and maintains a positive attitude.<\/span>Effectively communicates with patients and their families.<\/span>Additional Responsibilities 3<\/span>Job Knowledge & Skills<\/b><\/span>Knowledge of actions, side effects, appropriate use of commonly employed drugs, antibiotic utilization, evaluation, drug therapeutic monitoring, adverse drug reaction monitoring, patient chart review and selection of alternatives.<\/span>Knowledge of local revenue cycle policies and procedures<\/span>Knowledge of current technology and pharmacy systems for distribution of medications<\/span>Knowledge of pharmaceutical and medical terminology abbreviations and symbols.<\/span>Job Experience<\/b><\/span>Minimum of 2 years of experience in retail pharmacy.<\/span>Experience in hospital setting is preferred<\/span>Pharmacist licensure from MOPH in Qatar<\/span>Minimum of 1 year experience in GCC<\/span>Competencies<\/b><\/span>Agility<\/span>Patient Assessment L3<\/span>Medication Preparation and Dispensing L3<\/span>Pharmacotherapy and Clinical Knowledge L3<\/span>Prescription and Medication Management L3<\/span>Therapeutic Drug Monitoring L3<\/span>Leadership<\/b><\/span>Quality<\/b><\/span>Resilience<\/span>Education<\/b><\/span>Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy<\/p>\n
