An exciting opportunity to join the Qatar Airways Group IT – Digital Solutions & Engineering – Operations Department as Manager ITSM. This role is responsible to manage and successfully deliver assigned IT projects and solutions in compliance with the project standards and processes of the QR IT, to meet defined business requirements within agreed timescales and cost. Lead the Projects throughout the project phases from initiation to closure, technical delivery, support and enhancement of the complete solution. This includes managing application support within assigned LOBs. Contribute to Business – IT strategy and IT budgeting of the assigned line of business.<\/span>Your duties would include:<\/span>Ensure delivery of assigned IT projects\/IT solutions coordinating with business users, other departments of the QR and suppliers. This includes solutions built in-house, acquired packages and IT application support.<\/span>Provide fair and accurate feedback on the performance of resources assigned to projects and application support.<\/span>Plan to future proof application design\/ technology and for increased usage to support the expansion.<\/span>Provide technical leadership and advise key architectural decisions concerning the platform and the supporting technologies.<\/span>Implement technical architectures that are industry standard and scalable.<\/span>Prepare project plans and resource allocation for projects.<\/span>Managing the end-to-end RFX process for vendor application, service review with vendors.<\/span>For each project ensure:<\/span>Project plans are realistic, maintained and properly resourced.<\/span>Delivery is as per agreed quality, within baseline schedule and budgeted cost.<\/span>Projects are carried out through the defined phases fully complying with QR IT processes and procedures.<\/span>Solutions meet agreed requirements and business expectations, are maintainable and meet<\/span>documented and agreed criteria. This requires that all solutions are adequately tested (functional, nonfunctional,<\/span>performance and integration tested) before User Acceptance Testing.<\/span>Risks are assessed and mitigation\/management strategies are designed.<\/span>Timely and accurate project information and reporting are provided to IT management and business<\/span>Ensure that assigned applications are adequately supported. Manage the application support teams \/ suppliers:<\/span>Analyse system faults, assess severity levels, and provide solutions<\/span>Link similar problems by users or systems to enable detailed reporting and trend analysis<\/span>Ensure in service reviews for external suppliers<\/span>Perform business analysis activities to analyse user requirements and define solutions meeting those requirements and document system specifications<\/span>Contribute Business – IT strategy and IT budgeting of assigned business units.<\/span>Be part of an extraordinary story<\/span>Your skills. The ideal candidate should possess the following:<\/span>Essential:<\/b><\/span>Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent with Minimum 6 years of job-related experience<\/span>Experience in Project Management, Software development and maintenance, 3rd party application implementation, vendor management & support.<\/span>Experience in RFP process.<\/span>Experience in area(s) of Project management, Systems Development\/Design and Implementation<\/span>Management, Project Management tools, UI\/UX concepts, Application support, Business analysis and Team Management are required.<\/span>Managerial skills – Ability to train and develop subordinate’s skills. Ability to foster teamwork among team members and conflict management.<\/span>Preferred<\/b><\/span>8 years of specialized technical experience, ideally within a project-based IT environment.<\/span>Experience as a senior resource in IT projects.<\/span>Good understanding of Software Development Life Cycle.<\/span>Ability to adopt and adapt to emerging technologies.<\/span>About Qatar Airways Group:<\/span>Our story started with four aircraft.
